Hello I need relationships that are mostly/semi functional for my child(s?).

Aidan 'Danny' Hill
- Danny to mostly everyone in his life, incl. friends and family. Aidan is just for government forms and the very occasional weirdo.
- Plays ice hockey with local team; plays right winger (he is left handed)
- On the dance team - used to do ballet but got told his 5' 7.5" ass wasn't tall enough to stick with it; now he does mainly jazz dancing but he'll try anything once.
- Bitchy - but mostly it’s cause he has no patience for fools. If you don't say stupid shit he won't be mean to you.
- Isn't afraid to throw down if you insist on saying stupid shit. Hockey experience etc.
- Not a huge social butterfly - he's happy with the friends he already has and isn't afraid to offend people who don't like what he's saying. Sorry not sorry.
- Pretty stressed about trying to be both good at dance and hockey.
- Favourite colour is orange
- Gay - family supports him, but not totally out at school cause he has a casually homophobic friend and that is not OK.
- Family is pushing him into picking between hockey and dance, cause they want him to get a good scholarship, and it pisses him off cause he doesn't want to only do one. But he'll probably wind up having to stick with hockey cause it feels more likely to turn into a scholarship.
- Lower-middle class background, lives in a rougherish but not horribly rough part of Vegas (written before area reveals). Family doesn’t have a tonne of money which is why a scholarship is important. Not dirt poor but he has two older sisters so it's a bigger family on not a huge income.
- Not actually sure what he’d want to study in college, just thinks going is important. Can’t really articulate why or plans outside ‘dance more’ or ‘hockey more’.
- Grades are pretty mediocre - academics isn’t very interesting to him. Likes cultural studies cause he likes learning about it in relation to sports and dance, but he doesn’t get to do that much in high school sadface
- He likes slasher movies and grizzly comics cause he finds it super cheesy and hilarious. <-- Tentative detail may change.
- Has two older twin sisters who work low-wage jobs in Vegas after doing community college. Already moved out full-time/moving out soonish. Two older sisters means he got babied a lot growing up which he resented, but now he’s bigger than both of them so jokes on them.
- Secretly afraid he’ll get stuck working dead end jobs in Vegas if dancing or hockey doesn’t work out but doesn’t want his sisters to think he’s criticising them so he doesn’t say anything.
- Very conscious of his appearance and what he wears. Just don't point out his crooked teeth.
- Fantastic posterior.

What we're looking for:
- Hockey/dance friends/rivals
- Friends he already has who won't say stupid shit
- People who say stupid shit and piss him off - consequences be damned
- He's pretty (don't call him that) so maybe some girls he's dated before he realised he only liked dudes
- Some dudes he's dated on the down-low. Seriously if you try to say anything in front of his unaware friends he will deny it then text you later to say he already said not to say anything
- Danny had a formative moment in his sophomore year when his dance partner for an upcoming competition bailed on him at the last minute due to his aggressive nature. So I need someone who would've been that partner and would've walked out on him after having had enough of his bullshit. And ideally we can write a scene exploring it!
- Danny also needs partner(s) for competitions he continues participating in. But they have to be the absolute second-best in the club (after him, obviously), so don't bother applying if you're just doing it 'for fun', you fucking poser.

- Clarissa Lo Mein (not her actual name, I think Danny just decided to nickname her that for some reason)
- Marcy Valerio, who Danny has been practicing dance with a very long time, and is his current competition partner. Begrudgingly.

- Alexis Keller - could not get her steps right and ruined his chances in his sophomore year, so she is dead to him.

I would like to say they dated at some point, before the whole realization set in? She doesn’t know why they broke up, but she respected it and still wanted to be friends.

Kiandra would be such a funny case because introducing a trans woman into his life when he’s friends with a homophobe is so….I don’t know if she would be a friend or in the stupid shit category, because the first time the two of them are alone she’s gonna be like “my question is why are you friends with (TBA) when you’re as straight as a zigzag”….the gaydar is crazy

Rita and Danny probably had a couple dates before Danny realized he was gay, but Rita was very supportive of him and now they're close friends. She is absolutely dragging his behind to the dance club if he isn't in it already.

I think you might be overestimating Danny's kindness and willingness to provide ice. He is not the 'hey at least she tried' kind of guy when it comes to the dance team, he is the 'stop wasting our time' member of the judge panel. I don't see why they couldn't have dated but I think she would've had to make the first move.

I am not sure that Danny would intentionally seek out spending time with someone as out and proud as Kiandra due to not wanting to raise questions amongst his hockey/homophobe friends, but I don't think he would actively avoid her either. Hard to gauge whether she falls into the stupid shit category without dialogue.

Grl Danny does not need you to drag his ass to dance club, he was there before signups opened. The wealth disparity between the two may cause some conflict, especially if Rita is insensitive about it. Dating is plausible.

Hey there, here are some ideas I have for your character Danny:

I think Thomas Shaw and Danny could have known each other. I say "known" because Thomas likes to say random thoughts; some are interesting but others could be seen as stupid. So Danny tells Thomas to shut up the first time but Thomas (being Thomas) doesn't remember Danny telling him to shut up and does it repeatedly.

Based on your description, Thomas would eventually get beaten up, but Thomas is a snitch, so he snitches on Danny, and Danny gets punished (not expelled, maybe suspended or just detained?) So the two now hate each other.

Then my other character Chester would know Danny since Danny is in hockey and Danny would at least be aware of Chester.

That's just my overall idea, let me know what you think!

Well Danny is critical but he's still a team player, so he won't be chill if Kiandra is making pointless shots at his teammates. As for them clicking I think we just need to get some a better sense of personality in some scenes and go from there later on in pregame.

Clarissa and Danny would have good reason to be familiar with each other through the dance team. She's affable and not known to say stupid things. Kind, bit of an airhead, more of a listener than a speaker. Seems to want to get along and quickly learns from any slip ups she makes when conversing with others. Seems like the sort who wouldn't upset Danny! I like the idea of her being a friendly face for him when he's hanging out in the dance team's practice room, a trusted face. Not the closest but they have generally positive history and he knows she won't piss him off. That said, a few complications that could intrigue the dynamic up:
- She probably would have been interested enough to ask him on a casual date or two. Given her own propensities she'd be a fairly safe 'they stay friends after dating' since she also doesn't really want to be doing it about as much as he doesn't, albeit for very different reasons. She does find him hot, or did at the time. She's jealous of how his ass is better than hers.
- On the surface her obsession with cars and working at her family's shop probably makes him a bit jealous? She has a clearer path in life than he does and doesn't need to go to college. Might add a bit of tension on his end that she wouldn't consciously perceive.
- She tried to get him to go for her preferred style of hip-hop dancing and he didn't like it much, etc.
- Despite her knack for it she also doesn't take dance team 100% serious given her cheer obligations, her work at the auto shop, her being a party animal against her own will etc. She might lose points over time for not being as serious about things as he is, especially since she's mostly just there to help with practice and doesn't attend the actual competitions much.
- I doubt he is a fan of her non-existent fashion sense. Thank god she's chill to hang out with or he'd probably not care to look at her much, something like that.

Just the one idea, feel free to suggest others. How Vivian feels about Danny is gonna depend on just how precisely impatient he is with fools. If you have to push him pretty hard before he lashes out, she'd probably go "fair enough" and play down her airheaded qualities enough to stay on his good side whenever they cross paths. If he's *seriously* bitchy about fools, though, then Vivian does have a habit of winding people up by being as obtuse as possible. She's also very good at no-selling people being mean to her and pretending to not understand that she's being insulted, which might further frustrate him!

I think they are just are aware of each other. They don’t seem the types to spend much time in each other’s company, which is fine.

Based on what I can see about her, I can easily see Danny having said something mean to her that would lead to her shunning of him. Probably something vaguely along the lines of ‘You should do dancing instead of theatre. It’s a better use of your time.’. Or something meaner if need be.

I think Danny and Clarissa would probably make good friends, based on this description. He might see her as someone ‘safe’ he can talk to. Dunno if he’d be out to her, but apart from wanting her to take dancing more seriously, he probably respects her overall.

I think Danny will absolutely hate Vivian. Intentionally trolling him is a good way to get on his permanent bad side. Unless your name is Dennis but you go by ‘Buck’.
