Vice Principal David Tang

Vice Principal of JEM; Staff use only

NPCs (non-player characters) go here. This section is for characters who will not be participating in the game, including teachers and school administration. To encourage consistency, the staff have created a number of ready-made teachers, all of whom are available for free handler use unless stated otherwise. Please link any appearances these staff make in threads by replying to their topics. For this pregame, any additional NPCs will require staff approval on a case-by-case basis. Please contact staff if you wish to create any NPCs, and note that we will generally be trying to keep their numbers slim; pregame is, first and foremost, about the students.

Vice Principal David Tang

#1

Post by SOTF_Help »

Name: David Tang
Position: Vice Principal
Gender: Male
Age: 33

Appearance: Mr. Tang is a sturdily-built man who stands at 5'9" and weighs 170 pounds, much of which is evident muscle. He has broad shoulders and defined biceps, something easily seen given that he usually dresses in short-sleeved polo shirts and in t-shirts on more casual days. He pairs these with jeans more often than slacks, but always wears a belt and has his shirt tucked in. Mr. Tang is Chinese-American and has a medium tan skin tone, dark brown almond-shaped eyes, and black hair which he keeps in a short and spiky cut. He has an easy smile and overall projects a friendly and relaxed demeanor, often seen standing around in the halls between classes making conversation with students as they pass by.

Biography/Personality: A lifelong resident of Salem, Mr. Tang even attended John Endecott Memorial and graduated just a few years before the school's transition from private to public education. He majored in physical education in college and returned to his alma mater to accept an open coaching position not long after the switch, but he has found himself frustrated during his teaching career by the issues John Endecott Memorial has faced, which he feels are exacerbated by an out-of-touch administration and a lack of respect for the teachers. He has resolved to stick with it and try to be a change for the positive, and to that end has returned to school part-time to obtain the credentials necessary to someday become a principal. He was promoted just recently to the position of vice principal, after the previous vice principal retired.

Mr. Tang is known to students and other faculty for being a laidback and positive presence on the staff, though there is known friction between himself and Principal McArthur, for their contrasting personalities and approaches to teaching and discipline. This is exacerbated by the fact that Mr. Tang is much better-liked by the other staff and students, given his long presence in John Endecott Memorial and overall friendlier personality.

Outside of work, he still retains a passion for sports and fitness. He likes to go jogging and swimming in his free time and has considered taking up Little League coaching or similar, to fill the gap his career move has left in that regard.
