Mr. Robert Thomsen

Groundskeeper

NPCs (non-player characters) go here. This section is for characters who will not be participating in the game, including teachers and school administration. To encourage consistency, the staff have created a number of ready-made teachers, all of whom are available for free handler use unless stated otherwise. Please link any appearances these staff make in threads by replying to their topics. For this pregame, any additional NPCs will require staff approval on a case-by-case basis. Please contact staff if you wish to create any NPCs, and note that we will generally be trying to keep their numbers slim; pregame is, first and foremost, about the students.

Mr. Robert Thomsen

#1

Post by SOTF_Help »

Name: Robert Thomsen
Position: Groundskeeper
Gender: Male
Age: 66

Appearance: A short old man with leathery, tan skin and bright silver hair that cascades around his face and into his beard before resting onto his shoulders. He stands at 5'6'' and weighs a lean 130 pounds. Mr. Thomsen is known for his raspy voice, his bushy beard, and long, white ponytail kept in place by a Patriots baseball cap. He is commonly seen wearing flannel and jeans or his custodial jumpsuit. The hook-nosed and half-moon spectacled Mr. Thomsen has been a constant at John Endecott Memorial for the better half of four decades. Known for speaking to students like their grown adults and his precious Boston Terrier, Diamond, as if she was a newborn babe, he is both an intimidating and immovable figure for some.

Biography/Personality: Mr. Thomsen has been a fixture of Salem for generations, and both he and his wife Betty take great pride in their community. Mr. Thomsen was first hired as the groundskeeper and janitor in his twenties and shortly after his hiring, he offered his Boston Terrier, Diamond, as a live mascot for the school. This tradition stuck and it has been something that he and Betty have partook in ever since with forty years and now seven different dogs behind them. Bob Thomsen is someone who values community and tradition and takes pride in contributing to both.

A loud and brash man, he has a a penchant for complaining to anyone with an ear willing to listen and sometimes those who aren't so willing. Mr. Thomsen values tradition and detests change. He loves his job and likes the idea of making students happy—but he hates most students. While a lot has changed at John Endecott Memorial as they have transitioned from private school to public. However, Mr. Thomsen has remained the same man, cranky and cussing under his breath, still. In one moment he can be seen yelling at kids to throw their trays away and in the next he can be seen baby-talking to a dog in a cheer costume.
