Appearance: Saoirse is an overweight but relatively tall woman, standing at 5'9" and weighing 186 pounds. The skin in her face has loosened and is lined with many wrinkles. She has flaps of skin forming hoods over her eyes that make them appear narrow at all times and jowls forming around her lips that accentuate the thin-lipped scowl that seems to be her default expression. She wears a pair of thick, horn-rimmed, dark blue glasses on her short, rounded nose; the glasses have gold chains that run to her neck.

She wears her silver hair in a fluffy loose-bun style. Near the sides of the top, her hair is gradually thinning and she takes great effort to hide this the best she can. Her wardrobe typically consists of conservative formless dresses that are typically drab and neutral in color, though there are rare days she might wear something more colorful. On the last day of school, she is known to wear a green dress with pineapples and on the school day closest to Halloween, she will dress up as a witch.

Biography/Personality: Saoirse Donahue is known throughout the halls as a stern, no-nonsense teacher who at times can border on condescending to her students. Her proficiency in the subject matter she teaches goes without question; math is her first love in life and Mr. Donahue was her second before he suffered a fatal waterskiing accident. Where she excels in methodology, however, she falters in flexibility and will often fail to accommodate students with different learning styles or specialized needs, citing student laziness and unwillingness to learn rather than any fault on her part. Relatedly, she is known to play favorites and places extra attention on students who excel in her class while treating stragglers harshly.

A presence in the halls of John Endecott Memorial for more than 25 years, Mrs. Donahue is tenured and seems unlikely to change her ways anytime soon. Despite her usual grumpy demeanor, however, she is also notoriously unpredictable and will suddenly have a chipper, much more playful attitude when she's having a good day. She grows especially energetic around Halloween and leans into Salem's bewitching culture more than most faculty members. She's also guaranteed to be in a good mood on the last day of school, a trend extending to the precipice of any school vacation.
