Mmmmm I'd agree it's quite early to make the claim. MS said it because the votes were piling on. However, if I was a vanilla townsperson with a train on day one I guess I'd just say nothing about my role. But I'm not MS.
If it is true the mafia might try to go for someone else to hit something more valuable, or at the very least would know not to hit you for the future, thus endangering people with power roles.

Ah, Murderweasel. One of the few people alive able to turn a mafia game with no game content into a freaking essay. Bravo. I'm very new to mafia so I'm going to take Murdermellows stats and at face value and hope all of it is correct.
Also, I'm pretty sure claiming Vanilla Townie's a dang bad idea at least in this stage of the game. If you claim VT you're pretty much expendable so people will lynch you just in case you're actually scum, since VT's pretty expendable anyways. Ditto with night time phases I guess. Claiming roles at this phase just kinda seems a bit sus despite it being a way to move the game forward.
Also, because nothing's happened yet, we're playing roulette by picking a random guy to kill before anythingks even happened. Because nothing's happened, there shouldn't be anything that would expose someone's role unless they play that badly (aka that one time I claimed detective on day 1 ). So pretty much, we pick a dude, and hope we didn't take out the healer.
Vanilla Townies don't do much, so they're at the bottom of the lynching order for Town.

Did I exargerate and boost my wordcount with filler in that post? Yes.
UNVOTE: DMBOOGIE

No point in trying to dogpile an unknown role when someone else is already being dogpiled by heaps of other people.

I originally just threw my vote in just to be a dick but I'm also inclined to agree that the best case for lynching MS would be eliminating a scum role early on, worst case he was telling the truth and really is just a VT so I think going for it would be the best of our options right now outside of forcing a no lynch on the first day and evaluating how the first night goes.

If that's the case, the worst scenario would be if MS was actually a town power role, eh? I suppose it's not too different than a power role getting killed first night.

So Methy is at L-2 now, I think. Not going to put my vote on him because I really don't see the point of quick lynching when we still have two days left. The only opposition I have to the vote is that I'm 99% sure he's not mafia and even if it's not losing much and it's just to get information I'm still hesitant to lynch someone I'm sure is not scum. If there really are no other ideas by the end then fine. Also his posts annoy me.
Also @Fenris I'm only voting for Boogie I can confirm I have only one vote.

Yeah not sealing the deal now is a good shout. We have applied pressure and have a (relatively) low-risk lynch option ready that should give us some info to be getting on with. Townpoints to Poly for not pushing the lynch close to the edge.
I was gonna give Poly town points damn you Goose.
Just so we're clear the leads we're looking at are: MS, boogie and potentially Paige right?

I am suspicious with my "this lynch would be very funny" reasoning and joke vote for invoking The Unspeakable Game

More seriously scum points to Deamon because pre-emptive this is who/what/why we should look at reasoning for actions that haven't finished yet is a good scum move to steer the narrative when no one else is making strong arguments, and v viable on day 1 when most reasoning is
If Deamon is scum he knows how MethSlaw flips and there's power in casting suspicion or currying favor in an aimless day phase, more likely you'll catch a few people and you make people who disagree with your accusation or exoneration look defensive

Is it pre-emptive if I'm just clarifying who we've looked at so far though? Seems more emptive to me.

I brain farted and thought you were talking about after the lynch lmao
I dunno that we've actually looked at anyone? Riki said something about me and boogie did too that he retracted, somebody probably said something about boogie I don't remember, and my understanding of the MS lynch is that we don't have anything better and he's not fought all that hard to Not Die
