Blizzard Does Singing Now??
Anyway since I've posted a few recordings of me singing I figured I'd put them in a thread and hopefully this may motivate me to do singing practice more regularly
So here's some stuff. I may or may not have posted them in chat before. These are all vocaroo links btw. Some of the recordings are louder than others and unfortunately I do not have access to a good mic so rip. These are also all acapella.
First part of Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi
everything i wanted by Billie Eilish (full song)
First part of Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey (this one got recorded louder than the other two whoops)
A Love Suicide from Rule of Rose except it's almost swing-like? (full song)
And I dunno if I ever showed you guys this one, but this is actually an original work. I mean it's hardly all that polished and there's not even instrumentals, but basically this is me singing some lyrics I wrote.

I forgot to post in here after listening before, but you do sssuuucccchhhh a nice job. You have a great voice and do a really nice job using the unaccompanied acapella medium to good effect. I actually listen to a decent bit of folks music from the 60s that has a similar style, and I appreciate hearing a different take on things. You have a kinda of jazzy delivery a lot of the time, which is really neat.
I also think it's absolutely incredible that you're writing your own stuff, and you're doing an incredible job! If you scrambled these all up and didn't tell me which were covers and which originals, I'd buy that every single one of these was your take on a song from some professionally-published album that I just hadn't heard. You are super, super talented and I look forward to hearing more from you!

anyway
Red Like Roses (short)
also in terms of stuff I wrote, it's more derivative but I did write an english language version of BTS' Blood Sweat & Tears and i thought it was neat so I sang it
Blood Sweat & Tears Eng. Ver (translyrics here)
Strong soprano vibes there Blizz :0 Your voice has a lot of potential; it has good body and your range is strong, and it's cool you're putting in the work to practice your singing and songwriting skills! Do you have any plans to do your own accompaniments down the pipe?

Hopefully! I can't play any instruments other than the flute, but I do want to eventually:
a) put my covers to the instrumentals, though I'll have to up mic quality for that I think
b) make instrumentals for my own songs, probably with some kind of music software? I do have an idea of what to do for each of them. (as a bunch of fun facts: i imagine Control to have a pretty simple guitar melody, Lamb To Your Slaughter is pretty pop-synth sorta stuff, Take Everything is somewhat more rock, and Midnight Sun is essentially anime opening sort of rock. but things will very likely pan out differently when I actually Do The Thing)

How are you so talented. these songs are so wonderful, and so is your voice

I really like the way you sustain notes! You're very good at getting a nice quiver when the time's right for it but holding steady when that works better, and I love the deeper dip you do in Red Like Roses.
I'm very impressed by your translation chops! I'm not familiar with the original, but you did a good job getting the words to flow well and sound nice and make sense, which is especially impressive when you have to consider meter and singability.
I can actually super see the anime opening vibes from Midnight Sun! I'm really impressed by how much range and variation you've got. It's really brave of you to share all this, and especially impressive because you're legitimately super good at it! You inspire me to poke at music stuff again someday maybe.

I inspire you? that's awesome but also aaaaaaaaa
Anyway, since in the past I've been told I'm pretty controlled when singing, here's two covers that I feel are a bit on the freer side style-wise
Shameika - Fiona Apple
Sunlight - Hozier
and also Love is War. No, not the anime one. Not the vocaloid one either.
Love Is War - Christian Reindl

New covers! on a bit of a roll with lower songs
Sweater Weather - The Neighborhood
My Bad Alice - Jenova Collective
Plucked out of Cam and Mei's playlists respectively for reminding me of them/pivotal moments in their story (both of which lead to their deaths oops)
Sweet Little Lies - bulow
Let The Flames Begin - Paramore
