Hello everybody! We're coming at you with several new updates this month, so here they are:

SOTF Wiki Move Status
We are pleased to announce that the new wiki is up and functional, and we are only waiting on our new hosts to finish porting over all of the image and media files before we open it to the public. All of the data from the old wiki is safely backed up, and the existing wiki on Fandom will remain open to view unless Fandom themselves choose to close it. There will be another announcement forthcoming when the new wiki is ready for public use, we just wanted to give you all a status update on it!

Further Weapon Submissions
After discussion, we have decided to allow up to two weapon suggestions per handler this time around, based on the success of handler-suggested weapons in the past. If you have already submitted one weapon suggestion, you may now send in another. If you have not yet sent one in and would like to, you can send in two at a time. These should still all go to the SOTF_Help inbox.

V8 Final Applications Date
Final character submissions for Version 8 will open on May 29th, 2022. A subforum for final apps will be opened in the V8 pregame section at that time. You will need to re-submit all characters that you intend to take to the island, so you can take this opportunity to make any changes or updates that you feel are necessary to the character's profile after getting a feel for them in pregame. For V8, we will once again be running with a cap of FOUR characters per handler.

Version 8 Launch Date
We have had to adjust our launch timeline slightly to account for departures from the staff team and availability, but we are happy to announce to you that we are currently planning to open V8 proper in early to mid-September. A more definitive date will be given sometime after final character apps have opened.

If you have any questions about these announcements, feel free to ask them (preferably in this thread, rather than in the Discord, so that everyone can see the answers)!

If I have a profile still in the works, would it make sense to wait for the Final Apps?

Also: If I get the character only approved for the island, will I still be allowed to post in pregame/Memory with said character?

Any profiles still in the pregame queue when final submissions open on the 29th will be moved to Forfeited and need to be re-submitted in the final apps forum. If you want to use the character on the island, you will need to re-submit them anyway, so you'll probably find that the best use of your time is to finish the profile and then sit on it for a few days to submit in the final apps if you aren't through with it yet.

And yes, any character approved for the island can be posted with in Pregame and Memories for as long as both sections are open.

Yes, final apps will be conducted in waves just like pregame apps. The exact schedule will be provided in the Important Information post in the character application forum when final apps open. This helps the staff keep things at a manageable pace with critiques.
