V9 Concept Questions Thread

Aaaye, what's up?

So, if this is your first rodeo, this here's an old-school thread idea. Basic premise is you have your characters answer a question asked by the last participant, then go on to pose a question that someone else answers IC. Basically a chance to get a feel for your character's voice and their opinions on stuff.

To start off, let's have a quick look at the last Questions Thread...

Question: Do you have plans for Halloween as of yet? If you're planning on dressing up, what as?

Marcy: Oooooh, good question... OH OH, Finn, we gotta go as Barbie and Oppenheimer! C'mon, it'll be fun! Pleeeeeeease?

Koa: Aw man, was thinkin' more for Comic Con, but I think I'd be able to pull of a sick Blackbeard cosplay!

Johnny: Heh, I know what you're thinking... "Johnny, with a sick do like that, you gotta go as The King right?" And you know what I say to that? If Elvis was still around, he'd be wanting to dress up as ME! Sometimes, you just can't top perfection...

Florida: Gosh, do I go with the TNG uniform, or the Voyager uniform? HMmm... That's a toughie right there.


Question: What are your thoughts on Vegas?

Skyla: I think Vegas is fine, it’s got plenty of nice places and areas to go to. As long as…ahem, certain people don’t follow me around, creeps.

Maggie: Las Vegas is a really nice place! It’s got all these beautiful lights and it’s not too warm or cold and sometimes, you can go to one of their parks and hotels. Dad and I stayed at the Caesar’s Palace one, it was lovely!

Murray: Vegas? Is she one of the cheerleaders? Cause if so, I heard she’s real pretty!

Edwin: Are you kidding? Vegas is what made my parents famous, and it’s gonna make me famous when I inherit the casinos and owe the entire lot!

Keiko: Um…i-it’s fine, I guess. I don’t really go out a lot so uh…I wouldn’t know for sure…

Question 1: What are your thoughts on Vegas?

Beau: Although I like being away from the city to explore the outskirts of nature, I've taken a liking to all the dessert places they have here!! Especially the milkshakes, mmmmm... <3

Storm: I've only seen this place in the movies, but I never thought it would be wonderful in person. I've been near the coast before, but the change of scenery works for me.

Inessa: I've taken several photos of all the tourist attractions and they're almost memorable to me. I've taken pictures of the Luxor, the Skypod, Ceaser's Palace, and the Omega Mart recently... Wait... Darn, I never took pictures of the Welcoming Sign!

Question 2: What is the best part of Southwest Red Rock High?

Beau: The best part of high school was finding others who share the same interests that I have, and also making a club to find more friends!

Storm: I love the fact that the JROTC classes can help me become part of the Air Force someday, just like my dad!

Inessa: I'd say getting to take pictures and be part of all the school events that happen here. Even if I'm behind the camera, it's still fun!

Marcy: Sooo, just the other day I was havin' a bounce around Sky Zone, when I FINALLY nailed a triple backflip! God I wish Joanne was there to see it, the look on her face would've been PRICELESS!

Koa: Aw dude, I've been dying to see mah boy Samoa Joe live for AGES. So when I heard he was gonna be at Double or Nothing last year? Best day of my LIFE! Shame he lost, though...

Johnny: JUST one? HAH! Aah, this'll be easy... Hmm... OH, so guess who managed to pull off a turkey during bowling practice? That's right, THIS guy right here!

Florida: Well, I recently finished my very first NaNoWriMo attempt! Still haven't figured out a title... Or an ending... And one of the main characters has been called Commander Placeholder the entire time... B-but hey, it's something right?

Wade: That feels like a loaded question. I don’t give much thought to it in my day to day life, but I would peg myself as agnostic. I don’t know enough to be anything else.

Priya: I think that a lot of the things I do are really dissapointing for my parents. Like that one time where I came home with a new piercing, and they freaked out like crazy.

Molly: I suicide baited a thirteen year old on twitter. Felt really sorry about it, though.

HAYDEN: Hmm? What an inane question. Ten years is such an arbitrary timeframe anyway. I suppose you were trying to ask what "my dreams" are or something. Well, if you must know, I want to be a lawyer, not that it's any of your business.

ROWAN: Fuck, ten years? I’d actually rather not think about it, sorry. Live in the moment, right?

JAMES: Gee, in an ideal world I’d be settling down and starting a family by then, but we’ll see where life takes me!

The Last Jedi. Fight me, fanboys. No but for real, I fuck with Ex Machina. I enjoyed the way it tricked everyone into thinking the two loathsome fuckboys were the main characters, only for the actual hero to get the better of them in the end.

Artemis
I like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It really made me think, would I choose to forget? What would I lose along the way?

Mercy
Halloween, obviously. The John Carpenter original. I shouldn’t have to explain what’s appealing in a masterpiece. Oh but maybe The Thing actually, or Alien, or…

L.K.
Doug Walker’s The Wall. What a fucking trainwreck, it’s awesome. But seriously? I dunno, Across the Spiderverse? The varying visual styles are so cool, and trans Gwen is canon, change my mind.

Hope
Call me basic, but Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I love the blending of classic superhero cape stuff with the espionage and… well as much of a social commentary as you can sneak in on that budget.

Grace
I don’t really watch many movies, I guess Grand Budapest Hotel? It’s charming. Ralph Fiennes and Tony Revolori are both really witty. It made me care enough to feel wistful at the end, but not entirely sad. Does that make sense?

Oops nearly forgot to ask a question:
Desert Island Discs time; pick the album (the typical format is 8 albums but you don’t have to pick that many), book, and luxury item you’d take with you if you were exiled to an isolated island.

Claude - That's a very tough question simply because of what albums I would choose to bring with me since there are so many that I like... I do already know what book and luxury I would bring; Stephen King's CARRIE and my phone! But, if I were to simply choose one album, I'd choose Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan.


Now for the question: What is one hobby/interest you really want to get into but just can't simply because you think people will judge you for it?

Travis: And why should I care of people's judgement, in general? Not that I don't, mind you, but that implies my own opinion and feelings are worth less than the average Joe.

They kinda are, but that's not the point. What I mean is that if you really want to do something, and you can do it with someone, do it. If you don't-well. They won't be part of your worst regrets, but you'll find them as the dumbest.

With that said, I really wanted to pick up the bow again. I used to be good with it as a kid, but I only had my brother's bow for practicing, and he sold it so he could afford the repairs on mom's guitar, without actually asking me if I wanted to have it or if I had spare money to borrow him.

So, yeah.
