Left in the dungeon were nothing but phantom lights, the island ghosts illuminating the darkest heart of the island; candlestick wax glistened and gleamed with the flames at their tops, the smell of incense thick in the air like city smog. If not for the fires, one could have believed the room had remained abandoned for centuries; even now, there were no signs of life.

In the growing distance, outside of this unholy place of worship, beyond a door swung wide open, the pitter-patter resonance of footsteps echoed out against the cold, wet ground. They rose in pitch sharply for a moment, slowly crescendoed, and then, after a few tense seconds, began to sound farther as their once-clear melody fell away into the darkness of history.

Letitia looked around the cellar. She slowly made her way through the cellar, past all the candles and incense. After a few minutes, she came to the conclusion that no one was around. She finally lowered the rifle and sighed.

"Welp. At least it's a few bullets saved," she muttered to herself.

She had found another door in the cellar, so if someone was down there, they had probably slipped out. Letitia merely shrugged and decided to move on.

She did take a few minutes to blow out all the candles in the cellar. It was a cool effect, but part of her was a bit annoyed she accomplished nothing here. Once the cellar was darkened, she did decide to grab a few candles to take with her. There was a lighter in the first aid kit, and having candles would mean she could save some flashlight batteries at night.

Once she put a trio of candles in her bag, she made her way out of the cellar through the other door and back into the island.
