Survival Of The Fittest

Hey there! So it's still a major question mark whether I'll be in V9 or not, but the setting tempted me. I'm actually living in Nevada right now (albeit elsewhere) and I couldn't resist making a character. She's still being workshopped, but I love her already so I'm making a thread for her.

So, here's my concept so far:

Ginger "Gigi" Peck- One of those rich girls! However, she's the sleazy kind of rich girl. She sneaks into casinos using a fake ID, as well as underage drinks and smokes. As you might guess, she's a bit of a party girl type. Gigi (or Ginger, not sure which one she prefers/the narration uses yet) is, despite being rich, pretty streetsmart. She's also good at lying, as well as reading people. Since Vegas has a good shopping culture she likes fashion and shopping in general. Although she is kind of a sleazeball, she's also a good student, has a good disciplinary record, and may even have a student government position (I don't think she'd be the president or anything, though). She's smart enough to know that staying out of trouble is a good way to stay 'under the radar' in what shady things she does, honestly. That side, she has a noticeable risk-taking side of her personality, hence why she loves gambling.

Again, she's still being workshopped, so feel free to toss stuff her way!

* Underage gambles, underage drinks, and underage smokes. She's a menace.
* She also shops and loves fashion.

* Is actually a good student who tries her hardest to stay out of trouble so she can do more of the shady things she's doing.

* As you might have guessed, this is me just going full-tilt into stereotypical Vegas sleaze because I think it'd be fun to write a character like that.

My take... Beel would definitely like Gigi overall due to her sleazy behavior, but wouldn't like the fact that she's rich. Wouldn't bully her, and might be down to roll around in the sheets with her, but she's just as likely to steal $20 from her purse the next morning too. Unlikely to ask Gigi to join her gang due to the former wanting to maintain appearances, but they could be (very) casual friends.

You know what? I like this dynamic. I kinda like the idea of 'bitch you stole 20 dollars from my wallet after we hooked up' being a running gag of sorts? Like, Ginger being irrationally cranky about it long after, to the point of bringing up the 20 dollars each and every single time they're in a thread together despite it being a minor inconvenience at worst for her. So, kind of a frenemy dynamic where one is a sleazy Vegas stereotype who tries to keep up appearances to school faculty and the other is a Satanist wannabe punk, and they're very casual friends.

And one of them is still pissed about the 20 dollars.

Candy might mesh very well with Gigi. She’s not opposed to sleaze, is wealthy, loves fashion and shopping, and is happy to party, underage drink, and maybe sneak into casinos here and there. Plus frankly Candy could probably use a more streetsmart friend because she’s probably a little more casually oblivious. So, at the very least, shallow good-times friendship.

Hahaha. Yes. Ginger would be the friend who casually pulls Candy away from the tourist trap street scams and reminds her not to flash money around in questionable places, I approve. She'd also encourage Candy to do well at school for the same reason. Maybe their families are close, since they're both wealthy? Bonus: While she's still being fleshed out, I'm considering that Ginger has a casual interest in mixology and can make some pretty decent cocktails. Maybe she's made something like this for Candy at a party or something at some point?

Probably not much of a big gambler himself aside from maybe $20 here and there, but everything else is fair game to him. He's definitely not smart enough to get that staying out of trouble aspect though and is more upfront with the fact that he's a bit of a troublemaker. His section in the relationship thread does mention he's been trying to get his shit together, so he's probably trying (and mostly failing) to lessen the amount of times he does these activities while still maintaining a friendship. Ginger does sound like a lot of fun to him though so that ain't gonna be easy.

Speaking of the other two,

Tyson hates her guts.

K.K says "woah, she's a stereotype" and then proceeds to do absolutely nothing regarding those activities and maybe just says hi once in the hall and that's it. Personally they don't approve of it, but they're not going to be an ass about it because that ain't their business.

Hey! So, I think Ginger would actually approve of Bailey getting his shit together. If your shit is together outwardly, it means you can do more shady shit and people won't try to call you out on it as much.

But yeah, she'd definitely get him some of the good booze and nicotine, as well as potentially bet 20 dollars with him if/when he's up for it (or she would, if someone didn't take it out of her wallet. ):< ). Bonus: they're both Outdoor Rattlers! I'm heavily considering the idea that Ginger's folks go on hunting trips, so she has some outdoor survival knowledge, hence why I tossed her there.

Ginger honestly wouldn't pay Tyson too much mind, more because he's kinda comparatively withdrawn. If he makes his disdain for her known, she'd kinda laugh in his face. I kind of picture her to be the sort of person who, for lack of better phrasing, tends to dominate. Like, if someone opposes her, she'll go on the offensive rather than the defensive and control where the conversation is going. Which might be a fun dynamic with his defensiveness. There might be a bit of friction on the aforementioned hunting thing, depending on Tyson's specific thoughts about it as an animal lover (probably doesn't approve?).

Similarly, Ginger probably wouldn't go out of her way to bug K.K., and would say hi back.

Gigi sounds like Mo's type of girl. They're both Vegas stereotypes. Maybe they can have a flirty back-and-forth kinda thing.
