Find a Prom Date Here
Hey y'all,
Now that Prom has opened, I, like many of you, want to send some kids to the Prom threads, but don't have a date. That's why I'm starting this thread. Basically, post descriptions of your dateless kids, say what they might be looking for, and anything else. If you see a character in the thread who looks like a good Prom date, then you can reach out to the handler and set things up.
Again, this is to help find dates and discuss specifics that may play into Prom threads.
Here are my kids:
Meka Gibson would like to find a girl to go to Prom to. He wants a girl who he can easily get along with, who is intellectual, and who he can do dinner and dancing with. He doesn't have much of a preference for the kind of girl, and if he has to go stag, he won't mind. Still, he wants to have a nice evening out.
Katrina Lavell is desperate for a prom date. She's looking for a guy who is fun, hot, and willing to keep up with her on the dance floor. She doesn't have a lot of standards, but she's really hoping the guy will be up for fun and will keep up with her during the event.
Tanisha Abbey just wants to go to Prom and have fun. She has a group of girlfriends she can go with, so she doesn't need a date too badly. But if there's a guy who would be willing to take her, she'd be fine with it, and he'd probably have more fun than he'd thought.

Bree is attending and accepting dates. However, she's going to be mildly picky. She has standards, you know! Pick her up on time, must be reasonably tolerable and likable (maybe from her friend group?), don't push her around, maybe dote on her a little if you really want to get on her good side, make it a good evening. She's going to tolerate stuff going wrong a bit less than others would, but it's largely common sense stuff. Also, if it's useful, she's probably wearing red, so if you want to theme with her, well, it's there. She is also willing to do stuff like, say, stag with a friend group or do something before or after. O:
I'm uncertain if Roxie would show up. But I'm willing to accept ideas for her too. Just keep in mind her profile isn't up yet.

Alrighty, some eligible bachelor(ette)s, drafted in one sitting with no editing so ask if anything's unclear:
Juliette Sargent is definitely going to Prom one way or another. She's fairly popular, decently known among the student body, and is slightly further from complete mental breakdown now that class elections are over and she can relax. Juliette isn't going to ask anyone herself, but is pretty open to invitations, so long as whoever she's going with isn't a social liability and presents themselves well. Juliette isn't picky about an expensive dinner or a limo or anything like that, but she expects her Prom photos to be dredged up come some political campaign twenty years down the line so you'd better look presentable. She's probably a fairly fun date if you're not looking to get into loads of trouble and aren't picky about romance, but Prom is just Prom for her and she's not fishing for boyfriends or planning on getting much closer than a peck on the cheek if things go really, really well.
Alton Gerow is pretty popular with the ladies already and as such has room to be particular. If he's going to be your date, you need to be attractive, interesting, fun, and out of the ordinary. Otherwise, there are, like, loads of sophomores who fit that description and aren't getting into Prom any other way. If you do match with Alton, he'll dress nicely, drive you there in his car, buy you dinner, and be a solid date, unless you get boring in which case you're getting ditched. He's absolutely the sort to hit the after-party circuit, supply booze if that's up your alley, and put the moves on you. Alton's only interested in girls but will pose for pictures as your pretend date if you're a guy.
Lavender Ripley is on the cheer squad, nice, confident, and fun, unless you get her hackles up over politics or being a jerk or something. Lavender is pretty excited about Prom and wants to have a good, memorable night. What that entails is up for discussion and she won't be crushed if she goes dateless. Lavender believes in gender equality and is gonna pay for her half of dinner. She's looking for someone she finds attractive and gets along with, and will politely turn down anyone who doesn't fit that description. She's cool with parties or whatever afterwards, and if she likes you and things are going well then maybe this can be the start of something or at least a romantic evening overall. Lavdner's only interested in going with guys.
Phillip Olivares is going to Prom because his mom is making him. She's also making him wear a slightly-oversized suit that his brother wore as a freshman instead of his clown stuff like he wanted to, so that's a potential factor to weigh. Phillip is pretty much lacking in confidence and experience when it comes to romance and is absolutely not going to ask anybody out if left to his own devices. He'd pretty much say yes to anybody, but isn't likely to be a very exciting date unless you're into the stuff he's passionate about. He does not really know how to dance but is actually a good improviser with decent coordination and a unique (and occasionally tolerable) sense of humor. He has never kissed a girl he's not related to and doesn't expect that to change at Prom, or probably anytime soon.
Library Vee is super extra definitely not asking anybody to Prom. He's not going at all, unless by chance someone asks him, in which case he's likely to be surprised and confused enough to say yes by default and then feel honor-bound to turn up. He does not like crowds or loud noises and has no sense of rhythm and doesn't like being on his feet for too long. He's also got absolutely no romantic interest in anyone. Do not expect a good time, but he won't be a jerk about things, just awkward and distanced. Sven's apathy extends to the person asking him; he's equally disinterested in men and women.
Misty Browder is going to Prom but how seriously she's taking it depends heavily on if she's going with someone she likes. If so, she's playing it pretty straight; if not, she's turning up in the most witch-like get-up she can get in the door with. Misty wants to either have a good time or make sure nobody else near her does. If she likes you and you're compatible it'll actually probably be a pretty decent time but the catch is then you're someone who's compatible with Misty. She's totally okay with basically anything as dates go but would love it if you're buying. If stuff starts going bad during the dance it can and will escalate. Liberals need not apply--"I don't care about/follow politics" is fine but prepare to hear about them. Misty's down to hang out after Prom, hit parties or whatever, and might feel romantic towards you, assuming, again, you're the sort who can tolerate Misty. Guys only.

My free kid is Meilin Zhou, who has a unique (and sparkly) sense of style, and is talkative, even if the words coming out of her mouth don't make sense from time to time. She is very definitely going to prom, but a date to take her would be the cherry on top. She might ask a guy out, but she'd be receptive to invitations too. She's mostly here to have a good time and doesn't particularly care what measures are taken to ensure that, because to her it's all about the person- meaning, she won't object to any niceties like dinner and being driven, but it's not mandatory for her. (Though, if you can't pay for dinner she'll gladly do that. Even if you can she'd offer to pay for part of it, it's just polite.) She's interested in boys only, though their particular social status isn't a factor. If you seem like a nice person, Meilin would be willing to go with you. (Please note that she will likely try to stay in contact with her date even after prom is done with.)
Gina Petrov is also dateless for prom. Her only stipulations when it comes to a date are that the guy be someone she gets along with, that they want to take a lot of pictures and that they get along woth her friends (slav squad, and Camille/Lucas A mostly). Whoever asks her should not expect her tp put out in any way, as shes very much so a virgin. Maybe if someone has a crush on her and asks her to prom, then that leads to a bit of a romantic after-prom o could get behind that. If anyone has any other ideas im very open to suggestions.

Here's Bert Wren, youth Figure Skating prodigy and local cinnamon roll. She's itching to go to prom and is willing to go with anyone who isn't outwardly hostile and mean to her or others. She is open to attending any sort of after parties and getting up to all sorts of wild thing. She is only interested in boys. Bert would prefer they be happy and outgoing. She will likely not go without a date, but may show up anyways.
Moving on down the line we have one Lucas Diaz who wants to observe the horror show purely from the viewpoint of Gonzo Journalism, fresh off a Hunter S. Thompson kick and longing for decadence and fear and dare I say it loathing. He is willing to go with any girl provided she be willing to put up with his cynicism and shitty attempts at being cool, as well as willing to take in as many sights and sounds as possible, and put up with any eventual burnout. Lucas Diaz wants to go out with a bang, and he means that in the sense that he would very much like to score, but that isn't the first thing on his mind. What he is most chiefly concerned with is absolutely and totally fucking his shit up. If he finds no date, he will go alone. Taken!
Finally we have royal stick in the mud P.O.S. and only-doing-this-out-of-obligation S.O.B. Max Rudolph, looking for anyone politically compatible and willing to really discuss things. His parents are willing to shell out a lot of money for him, and he will likely be taking his date to prom in a rented limousine. He is not looking for sex, but figures that even the most stoic of philosophers engaged themselves in the pleasures of the flesh sometime or other. His racial preference is for white girls though he will never admit that he is turning down someone because of their race. He will not show up without a date. Taken!
Oh, but let's not forget little Violet Schmidt, looking for someone to skip prom with. She would much rather sit at home alone and play video games and listen to Tallahassee by The Mountain Goats four times in a row, but she doesn't like feeling left out. She'll hang out with any boy or girl. For obvious reasons, she would prefer if they did not get hands-y. Also, there may be rituals involved, but she has been cagey on details pertaining to said magical escapades. Taken!

My only kid who doesn't have something planned is Mercy Ames. She's expecting to go in a group with other dateless friends but if a guy wants to ask her she'd consider saying yes, as long as he's not a creep or a weirdo. Someone her parents wouldn't approve of would have a lower chance of success but then again she might be willing to not tell them she has a date and just meet him there if he does a good job with the promposal.
"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you."
So we've got two aimless souls ripe for the prom taking.
Morgan Dragosavich is your typical semi-awkward class clown guy who has a bit of a reputation for his shotgun dating strategy. Essentially, he'll ask out whomever if he thinks they're cute and/or available. As far as prom is concerned, he's not overly worried about going with someone - he's more than okay going with his friends as a group of singles, but he certainly is on the lookout for realistic prom targets. He's not taking it very seriously though, and he's probably the perfect kind of person for any lady who just wants someone to goof around with and have a fun time. While he doesn't have the 'sex object' vibe in any way/shape/form, he does have the ability to be surprisingly charming and will just roll with whatever happens with zero expectation. Morgan is almost more excited for the after-parties than he is for prom itself.
Claudeson Bademosi is intending upon going to prom on his own - more to help out and be part of the school community than anything else, but he wouldn't be opposed to going with anyone. He isn't planning to ask anyone, but would almost certainly say yes if anyone asked him - though more out of responsibility than anything. He doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs, and will very likely conform to the very traditional 'prom experience' for anyone going with him - sans any and all post-prom activities. It'd take a miracle for him to attend any of the after-parties, so if his date's planning to go they're probably going with someone else.

Sierra Cook is your average cynical teenage girl who is more than a little sarcastic but can be quite nice when she wants to be. She's not necessarily excited to go to prom and is really only going because she has nothing better to do, but If you are someone she already knows/gets along with then you'll have someone you can just chill and have a good time with! If you're not she'll probably go out with you anyway if you asked since she had no real plans anyway.

Violet Quinn is a quiet goth who secretly wants to go to Prom who wants to have fun and bond with more people. She is willing to go with a girl if the girl asks her as she is not good at asking people things herself. She will go with a guy as a friend and not a date. If not, she will be off doing her own thing elsewhere. Violet is still available.

hey well i wasn't expecting on writing one of these but
Zen Alicea Feliciano is a ball of energy and good cheer and they love to PARTY. They will probably go with anyone that asks them honestly but expect to be ditched if you aren't enough fun and Especially expect to be ditched if you have no interest in going to an afterparty and/or getting lucky tonight. They will be dressed impeccably, at least by their standards, and they're totally happy and willing to help you out with your outfit. Expect a lot of touching. All genders may apply. Zen's definitely going to prom whether or not anyone asks them, and they really Want to ask a particular person but they aren't gonna have the courage to do so.
Nia Karahalios is quiet, probably because of the muteness or something, and has a certain level of disdain for all people and things that don't interest her. Social things don't interest her, therefore prom feels like a no-go. But if someone interesting asked her, she'd probably figure this is technically a once-in-a-lifetime experience and perhaps it could be interesting in one way or another. Don't expect much of a party atmosphere from her, though. She's going into this like a zoologist observing the behavior of wildlife. Unless you're just really distractingly cute I guess. Girls only need apply, guys may expect a high-tier withering look in response. Nia is absolutely not going to prom unless someone gets her to.

Henry Sparks needs a date for prom. He's never felt like he had too much time for dating or socializing, but definitely looks at prom as a kind of "once-in-a-lifetime" box to check off. Anyone who's just going to have a good time and isn't taking things too seriously would probably get along well with him. Despite his somewhat aloof demeanor, Henry is very much capable of having a good time, genuinely enjoying parties and socializing, and is looking for an excuse to unwind a bit. As long as he has a good time, he doesn't much care what the evening results in. He's straight, though would go to prom with anyone so long as they weren't an awful human.
Caroline Ford is debating going to prom, but will probably do so in an effort to maintain some semblance of normality. By the time prom rolls around she'll have gotten some of her issues under control at least from a medical standpoint, and it's still not going to be immediately obvious to everyone that she's not well. In terms of who she'd go with, Caroline is a fairly strict Mormon and would prefer to go with someone who shared at least some of her values, mainly being a person of faith who believes in clean living and modesty. She is deliberately trying to lessen her responsibilities and have a bit more fun with what's left of high school, for the sake of her mental health - so while she's definitely not going to be drinking, she might stay out a bit later on prom night than she normally would.
Erika and Tyrell are going to prom together, and I'd ideally like them to have a group of friends to hang around (mostly Erika's friends, in all likelihood). If anyone wants to start up a thread with those two, PM me! (here or on discord)

Cecil Salazar-Loveless is the generally distant and stiff goody-two-shoes who has now promised himself to relax and have a good time, but also to help out and support the school event. He’s planning to attend prom either way even on his own, but if someone he doesn’t have anything against decided that he’s worth asking to go to prom with, then he wouldn’t see any reason to refuse. He’s usually a stick-in-the-mud, but he’ll actually try his best to make sure he and his date have at least a decent time. Still, nothing too wild though. Swings both ways, and he’ll definitely put in effort on what to wear.

Blake Davis will be going to the prom and is looking for a date as of this time. While he will go with anybody he is on good terms with, be it a boy or girl, he does have standards for who he accepts. Basically, as long as you dress nice, show up on time, and overall don't act too much like an ass or an idiot, you're good. He's not actively looking for sex with anybody after prom, but he'll be down for it after some convincing. Outside of that, he's willing to attend after parties.
Matthew Hunt doesn't really have any plans, on the other hand, so he would really only go to the prom if somebody else asked him. If you're someone he knows already and are on relatively good terms with him, then he'll hang out with you as either a friend or date! Or you can just decide to skip prom and do something else with him. It's your call. If he does go to the prom with you, just don't expect anything special to happen after it's over.
