“Well, I ain’t very good at the dancing games. Because I’m a terrible dancer.” Meggy dropped an octave for comedic effect before giggling “But I enjoy a lotta games, really! I got into Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto, and of course, Mortal Kombatt!”

She smiled and brushed her hair back “Sorry, don’t want to sound like a geeky gamer girl, I’m really not I just like playing the games.”

Willow let out a small laugh while moving forward with the queue. “Oh don’t worry. I think it’s nice when people are passionate about something. I could sit and listen to you talk about your interests for hours.”

Another step forwards.

“Honestly might be nice to learn something. The gaming world really has passed me by. So many people in the tabletop club talk about them and I have no clue what any of them are saying.” Willow sighs, her mind flashing back to that one guy who won’t stop talking about how hot Karlach is “Both figuratively AND literally hehehe.” Fuck he’s so annoying. Ugh enough of that. Don’t let him ruin tonight for you too. “As for dancing well I could help. I’ve been trying to learn a few with uh…variations of success but learning together is more fun than learning apart.” Most of the time anyway. Learning with her parents was never fun. Meggys probably less demeaning in the face of failure though. The demeaning would at least be more fun anyway.

With the end of the queue in sight Willow unzips her bag and pulls her wallet out, slipping her card out to get it ready before they got to the entrance. One more step and they’ll be there. Don’t fuck it up now.

Meggy eagerly bounced on her foot, waiting as they are last in que and stare at Willow with a toothy grin and then at the entrance “I’d love dance with you. Just name the time and place.” She winks and excitedly bounced as they are let in through the doors.

Planning future dates before even fully starting this one. That’s a good sign. Those online courtship tips really do work. Before future dates can happen though this one’s still gotta be good. With one final deep breath Willow pays for their entry and puts her card back into her purse as she steps forwards with Meggy.

Immediately Willows senses are assaulted by the wave of lights and sounds beaming into her. Willow had looked into the place and knew it was going to be a loud tourist attraction but stepping past that threshold and actually standing under the lights while hearing the constant chatter and screaming along with the whirring and beeping of various different machines. It’s all just a little overwhelming for a kid whose biggest thrill has been hitting hole in one’s on a golf course.

Can’t let that show of course. Meggy can’t start this being concerned over Willows wellbeing. The internet said that’s a bad way for a date to go. So, after pulling her glasses off and cleaning them with her tank top, Willow simply looked over at Meggy with a smile plastered onto her face. “So what’s catching your eye right now? I’m happy to do anything you want!”

Meggy’s eyes dart around the various lights and colors inside the building, her smile growing ever more. All the overwhelming noises and lights with machines and games and the sound of people laughing. She looked at Willow and spoke more louder so she can be heard.

“I don’t know! Let’s just have fun!” Meggy grabbed Willow’s arm and tugged her deeper into the building.
