Leslie Smith

#1

Post by Katie »

Name: Leslie Smith
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Grade: Senior
School: George Hunter High School
Hobbies and Interests: Partying, video games, web browsing, soccer, basketball, lesbian media, acting, The Beatles

Appearance: Leslie is a Caucasian girl with a lean face and a bony chin. Her eyes are hazel with naturally long eyelashes, her nose is pointed somewhat large, and she has a small mouth with naturally pink lips and a thin upper lip. She occasionally gets zits on her forehead, and when she does she makes sure to cover them with her bangs.

At 5'9" and with weight that tends to hover in the 120 to 130 pounds range, she's a tall, very slim girl with slight curves. She has long, somewhat wavy brown hair that goes past her shoulders. She tends to wear very basic makeup, only wearing concealer and sometimes lipstick, and on rare occasions some eye shadow and/or eyeliner. She never wears mascara because her eyelashes are already long and mascara makes them too long, to the point where they brush against her glasses.

Leslie wears black plastic framed glasses with large lenses, because plastic frames are more durable than wire frames and large lenses give her a bigger field of vision. Her ear lobes and belly button are pierced, and she'll generally wear small rings or studs in her ears, and for her navel she has a barbell that she'll generally attach one of her various dangles to. For clothing she generally wears crop tops, tank tops, and t-shirts, paired with a skirt or shorts during warmer weather and jeans when it's more chilly. For shoes, she generally wears sandals or flip flops if the weather permits, otherwise she'll wear stylish boots. She'll often deliberately wear dress code violating shirts to school and hide them under a jacket. On the day of the abduction, she was wearing a cropped white tank top, a blue zip-up sweatshirt, blue jean shorts, pink flip flops, and gold stud earrings, with her navel piercing having a mermaid dangle that day.

Biography: Leslie is the only child of Charles (who generally goes by either "Chuck" or "Charlie"), a doctor, and Alexis Smith, an elementary school teacher, both 46 years old. Her parents are a pair of upper middle class white liberals that met in high school and married when they were 23. They moved into the gated community that George Hunter High takes much of its student body from not long after getting married.

Born on August 23, 2000, Leslie quickly proved herself to be something of a prodigy, learning basic childhood skills such as walking, talking, and using the potty well ahead of the norm. Much of her toddlerhood was spent watching her favorite kid's shows and having play dates with the neighborhood children, which happened often due to her lack of siblings to play with. She grew up being closer to her mother than her father since her father's long wok hours meant she didn't see him as much. On Christmas 2005 she got a Game Boy Advance SP and Pokemon Emerald, which she quickly became addicted to and kicked off her lifelong gaming hobby.

Out of all of her hobbies, gaming ended up being the one she enjoyed the most. She found games to be just so fun and addicting. While she's played a variety of genres, her favorite has always been RPGs, with Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and Neptunia being some of her favorites in the genre. Lately she's been playing Christine Love's visual novels, which she's enjoyed for their high quality writing and lesbian themes.

Once Leslie started school, she absolutely excelled academically, getting high grades and easily retaining what she was taught without even needing to study. However, in second grade, she ended up falling into the troublemaker crowd, and ended up being influenced to do naughty things such as pulling the fire alarm, leaving her with frequent suspensions and trips to the principal's office. Her parents ended up forbidding her from playing with her more toxic friends outside of school, which improved her behavior somewhat, turning her into more of a clown that a straight-up trouble maker.

It was also during this year that she first joined the school soccer team since her parents wanted her to try some sports, which she continued to be a part of all the way through high school. As far as her skill with the sport goes, she was rather average at it. She played midfield, and generally had a good idea of where to be on the field and what to do there at a given time, but she was held back by being rather scrawny and weak, allowing other, much stronger players to push her around. She's also never been as in-shape as she could be because she's always neglected to exercise during the off-season, which has hurt her performance in the first couple weeks of most soccer seasons as she's generally spent them getting back into shape. She was aware of her faults, and made sure that when she got the ball she'd safely pass it to a better player as soon as she could. Despite being merely average at the sport she found it to be very fun, so she continued to play it all throughout her school years.

She also joined the basketball team later that year as well, again with her parents' encouragement. She was again merely average at it, her above-average height not meaning much when it was merely average for a basketball player. She had a good sense of where to be and what to do, but her physique meant she had trouble stealing or keeping the ball from bigger girls. As far as shooting goes, she was decent enough at getting 2-pointers, but couldn't score a 3-pointer to save her life. Like with soccer, whenever she got the ball she'd try to pass it off to a better player as soon as it was possible to do so safely. Like with soccer, despite not being exceptional at it she continued to play the sport because she enjoyed it.

She never picked up a permanent spring sport. She tried softball in second grade and found it unbearably boring, so she never played it again. Track and field she tried out in middle school, but she never found an event she liked and was good enough at to keep playing it, so she again didn't return to it. By high school she had decided she liked not having a sport to worry about in spring, especially since it gave her more time for a given year's spring play, which was always the biggest and most popular production for its school year.

Third grade was when she developed her first crush, and much to her confusion, it was on another girl. She told her parents, who, being social liberals, were supportive and encouraging, and thanks to their support she realized she was a lesbian. However, her behavior was still an issue, with her often goofing off and misbehaving in order to earn the laughs of her peers, and in 5th grade she was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed dexmethylphenidate to treat it. Her behavior improved considerably afterwards, with her getting in trouble less and less as she got older, though she never really stopped being a clown and still occasionally got up to wacky antics, especially on days where she forgot her meds.

In middle school she received her first smartphone. She quickly became addicted to the internet, spending much of her free time not spent with friends on it, and developed a love for lesbian romance, reading various lesbian stories and manga as well as various other lesbian media. She ended up becoming a hopeless romantic, and made it a long term goal to get a girlfriend and get married, though she had always been too shy when it comes to romance to act on any of her crushes. Aside from using the internet to read and view lesbian media, she mainly used it to look stuff up, often finding herself spending hours on sites like Wikipedia and TV Tropes and picking up various random facts and trivia. Academically she continued to excel, though the occasional suspension hurt her grades, and she was taking algebra by eighth grade. Eighth grade was also when she got her ear lobes pierced, a common trend among girls her age at the time and one she decided to partake in.

High school was a time of great change for Leslie. She found herself disgusted at the toxic masculinity of many of her male peers and began to start avoiding them when possible, having developed a loathing for boys. Freshman year she joined drama at the encouragement of some of her friends who did theater and began acting in the school plays, something she quickly developed a passion for, enjoying getting to be another person for a few hours in order to entertain an audience, one that she'd often leave laughing as she often found herself cast in comedic roles, as well as the close-knit relationships theater folks tended to develop. She had been curious about theater for a while, so when some of her friends encouraged her to try it she quickly snatched that opportunity up. She also began becoming a regular partier, at first even partaking in drinking, though being sure to do so in moderation because she knew the risks of drinking too much, but after getting her license at age 16 she stopped drinking in favor of becoming a designated driver, since they were in high demand and she liked being relied on for it, also liking the fact that it gave her a good excuse to keep people from trying to peer pressure her into getting drunk. She also got her navel pierced around this time, liking how navel piercings looked and wanting one for herself.

Her dad briefly took her hunting when she was 14, taking her to a shooting range and teaching her how to shoot first, but she didn't much like hunting so she never went again. She found it rather boring and had never been much for the outdoors in the first places due to all the bugs, and when they did encounter a deer she was too hesitant to shoot it, not liking the idea of being the one to kill another sentient being. She didn't have anything against killing animals for food, she just didn't want to be the one that killed them. Shooting at the range she didn't mind though, and would have done it again if her dad offered, but he never did, mistakenly assuming since she didn't like hunting she must not like shooting either, as he saw shooting at ranges as practice for hunting rather than a recreational activity in its own right.

Sophomore year she had her first and so far only relationship, briefly dating Sierra Cook, eventually breaking up due to Leslie wanting something long-term while Sierra wasn't one for commitment. Sierra had been the one to ask her out, as unlike Leslie she wasn't shy about making amorous advances, and they dated for about two months before mutually agreeing that it wasn't going to work out and breaking up. While Leslie was hurt by it, she knew their relationship wasn't going to last and didn't let the break up get to her, and while no longer dating she and Sierra continued to be friends afterward.

Junior year she developed a love for The Beatles, buying all their music on iTunes and getting a bunch of Beatles shirts and sharing random Beatles trivia with anyone who'd listen. While she listened to a wide variety of music and liked plenty of other artists, she found none of them could compare to The Beatles for her in terms of musical quality.

She grew more and more laid back and apathetic as she grew older, not caring enough to hold grudges or put more effort into her school work than was necessary for a passing grade, and waiting until the last minute or sometimes even after that to do projects, sometimes even neglecting to do an assignment at all if she was feeling lazy enough and could get by with not doing it and still passing, so her grades began to slip, though she managed to continue to be in all honors classes. Her favorite subjects were those under the social studies banner, as she found human behavior and civilization utterly fascinating, while her least favorite subject was math, as despite not struggling with it she found it utterly tedious, yet she generally got some of her highest grades in math because her math assignments often didn't need much effort put into them, and the homework she could usually get done in class. The thing she struggled with the most in school was writing papers, as she often had trouble organizing her thoughts, and going out and having to cite a bunch of sources was something she found annoying. She usually just ended up using Wikipedia and citing the sources Wikipedia cited.

Despite her apathy towards maintaining high grades she's still something of a know-it-all, often sharing various random facts she knows with others and not hesitating to correct people when they're wrong. She's not completely hard-headed though and is willing to admit when she's wrong should she be proven to be so. She's very open about being a lesbian, but shy when it comes to romance, absolutely terrified at the thought of asking a girl out, hoping she'll get asked out by another girl so she won't have to take the initiative, like how her relationship with Sierra started. Despite this she's very much social and has no problem hanging out with girls she has a crush on even if she's too scared to act on her more amorous feelings. She doesn't hang out with boys much though, with most of the few boys she gives the benefit of the doubt for being gay themselves and/or part of theater with her. While she generally holds boys in disdain, she's careful to avoid mentioning her dislike of them when around boys, only voicing it when gossiping among other girls. She usually tries to avoid conflict when possible, but her know-it-all nature can get her into arguments anyway. She likes making others laugh, and will often say or do ridiculous things in order to get laughs out of her peers, particularly when off her meds, where she'll be very hyper and easily influenced, as well as easily distracted. She is very lazy and generally avoids putting more effort into things than she needs to if it isn't something she's passionate about.

While her parents are liberal, she is much more liberal than them, her parents being more moderate liberals, whereas Leslie's beliefs are more radical and progressive. Her parents are devout Christians and go to church every Sunday, and while she goes with them, she isn't a believer, but is too scared to make her lack of beliefs known. She wishes she could be a believer, but she isn't the type to believe stuff without sufficient evidence, and she doesn't think there is sufficient evidence for the existence of God. Despite this she still has morals, thinking knowing right from wrong is generally common sense, and based on how others are affected, rather than something one needs religion to tell them. She has no major long time goals besides getting a girlfriend, or even girlfriends, as she isn't opposed to polyamory, and living her life happily with them. She has decided to take a year to figure out what she wants to do with her life before she goes to college.

Advantages: Leslie is very smart and knows how to shoot a gun, even if she doesn't have much experience with it. She's also generally well-liked and not likely to be a major target early on.
Disadvantages: She is very scrawny and weak and despite playing sports, doesn't exercise during the off-season, leaving her rather out of shape by late spring, and is easy to distract and/or influence when off her meds.
