Name: Sofia Ramirez
Gender: Female
Age: Eighteen [18]
Grade: Senior [12th]
School: Bayview Secondary School
Hobbies and Interests: Softball, Basketball, Honor Club, Kickboxing

Appearance: A proud Latina by heritage, this fact is very apparent in Sofia's appearance, starting with her deep tan. Her hair, jet black ringlets, falls wildly around her face and onto her shoulders when it's loose, though Sofia tends to mostly keep it in a tight braid. Her face is somewhat round, giving her cheeks her grandmother always used to refer to as pinchable. Her eyebrows, also black in color, are arched sharply and are full, yet shapely. Her eyes are a dark brown and color and are somewhat almond-shaped, and her nose is slightly bulbous looking. Her lips are overly full and always seem to look pouty. On occasions when she is reading, small, square-rimmed glasses sit across her face. Outside of class, however, Sofia is never seen with them on. She stands at 5'7" and weighs around 130 pounds, giving her a figure she likes to describe as curvaceous. Sofia's not a bad looking girl in terms of appearance, but she's certainly no Miss America, and her social awkwardness tends to make her unattractive to most of her male classmates. Definitely not a fashionista, Sofia is very passive about her clothing, and is definitely a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, mixing in the occasional polo to change it up a bit.

Biography: Born in San Antonio, Texas, Sofia was the first of six siblings born to Javier and Maria Ramirez, a hard-working factory employee and a cook. When she was a little over a year old, her mother gave birth to her second sibling, Emilio. Two years later, Sofia found herself with another new sibling, Fabian. Being close to the same age range, the siblings all seemed to get along well, with Sofia instantly taking the roll of helper when Fabian was born. She seemed fascinated with babies and always wanted to help her mother take care of them. This came as a blessing for Maria, who found dealing with three small children to be somewhat overwhelming at times. Over the next few years, two more additions would be made to the Ramirez household: Esperanza and Teobaldo, more affectionately known as Teo. With the addition of two more children, the Ramirez family found themselves quite strapped in the financial department.

Thankfully, it was around that time that her father's work paid off, and he was offered a great promotion within the company. Unfortunately, that promotion meant moving across the United States, to Minnesota, and leaving Texas behind them. Although the family didn't want to move, the oldest children (Sofia having been 15 at the time) having long since settled in to their school lives, it was agreed that it was the best thing they could do, and so solemnly, the Ramirez family packed up and left San Antonio for St. Paul, Minnesota. When Sofia was 16, the final member of the Ramirez household entered, the world: baby Izabelle. Sofia found herself playing mother to the other children alongside her own mother and often filling in during her absence. While it was overwhelming at times, Sofia didn't seem to mind much.

Most of her problems seemed to come from her parents, who pressured all of their children -- but Sofia most of all, seeing as she was the oldest -- to do well in school and sports. Sofia felt like she had to set a standard for her younger siblings, which put all the more weight on her shoulders. Upon enrolling in Bayview Secondary School, Sofia joined the women's softball and basketball teams. In addition, the pressure to make good grades saw her quickly grace the doors of the school's Honor Club. Studies and sports proved to be a lot to handle, and Sofia found herself having issues when it came to making friends. She didn't have the time to get to know people aside from during class or at athletic events, and she was frequently shunned by the other athletes after declining invitations to parties when she just "didn't have time".

Her overwhelming family life made up for her lack of social interaction, but all the noise and clamor she always faced at home caused Sofia to seek solace in the school's library for doing homework. The amount of time she'd spend in there at times got her labeled as a nerd by some of the more vicious "popular crowd". Reputation didn't mean much to Sofia, and although she was somewhat of a social outcast, she was succeeding in making her parents happy, which was her number one priority. Last year, Sofia took up kickboxing in the little bit of spare time she had, and has been practicing diligently ever since. She uses it as a source of stress reliever when the pressure starts to get to her -- which has been more and more frequent as of late.

Recently, Sofia's parents have pressured her into getting a job at the local mall -- something that has the potential to yield disastrous results with her current workload. Despite not wanting to, she bent to her parents will, and is now currently working part-time. Her job could best be described as awkward, not because it's a strange job -- she simply works at a sporting goods store in the mall -- but because sometimes her social interactions with people border on downright painful. She's recently established a huge crush on one of her co-workers, but every opportunity she has to talk to him, she seems to turn into a blithering idiot. Throughout her whole life, Sofia never really had much social interaction with the opposite gender, and watching her try is a mixture between brutal and amusing.

Advantages: She's athletic, which will be a definite plus. Her kickboxing experience could help her out in the long run, as although she's not much of a fighter and is a very passive person by nature, she definitely has the ability to defend herself if she chooses to put it to use. She's also a very intelligent girl, and is a naturally level-headed person, so coming up with a plan shouldn't be too much trouble for her.

Disadvantages: Her biggest disadvantage is easily her social awkwardness. She never really fit in an any social circles, so she has few friends to seek out. Some of the more popular students dislike her because she's "snubbed" them in the past, and the lower social circles don't seem to like her because she's an athlete. This, along with her lack of ability to associate with men, could prove to be a huge problem later on.
