Appearance: When someone sees Sable for the first time, the thing that jumps out about her most is her eyes; too wide for a teenager, colored a quirky sort of combination of green and grey, and hauntingly blank. Her hair is a rich red color, very short – some have classified as a bob – and her bangs are long enough to just cover her eyes. She clips them back with a silver bobby pin, revealing her forehead. Her nose is somewhat flat and small, and her skin is reminiscent of a peach; smooth and fair, but with a few blotches of red. She stands at 5 ft 2 in, and at 110 lbs, she's slim and bony. Still, it's a fact that she's wicked limber; gymnastics being a part of your entire life does that to a person.

Sable usually wears things that are grey; grey shirts, grey pants, grey skirts, grey shoes...on rare occasions, like for a picture day, she will wear something with color, but other than that, everything is straight grey. Oddly enough, she has been known to say that her favorite color is yellow.

Background: Sable is a quiet person, who, at first glance (and a few more afterwards), appears to be a blank slate. Only those who probe deeper find that she's just extremely apathetic, and, in rare instances, has a burning temper and a sharp tongue. She loves to think, and as such, can spend entire class periods staring into space, with her mind being anywhere but on the lesson. Even though this causes her grades to plummet, she is just as intelligent as your average student.

Sable has a relatively average family, with both parents and a brother who is 16 years old. Her parents owned and operated a moderately successful gymnastics center in New York City, where Sable was their star. Sable had been quite a different girl then; happy, bubbly, full of emotion and a love of life. However, during middle school, she participated in a state gymnastics championship with her parents' center's team...and lost. Perhaps it was due to nerves, or cockiness, but either way, her performance was extremely below expectations. Her teammates, all friends from her school, proceeded to berate and belittle her for making their team lose.

These kids were harsh...perhaps too harsh, but then again, they were over-emotional girls. In the span of a few months, they had left Sable friendless, and her self-esteem was in tatters. There were a few instances of mass food-flinging in her direction, not to mention the numerous, unreported incidences of leaving tacks on her chair, putting gum in her hair, and tripping her in the hallway. Eventually, Sable stopped going to school altogether, and her personality started to harden. Why should she be happy, when so many people at school were working to make sure she was miserable? Her parents, baffled and confused, took her to a psychiatrist.

She spent an entire summer in therapy before the psychiatrist gave up on her; apparently, she refused to talk about what had happened. The psychiatrist suggested that they should move to an area that was far-removed from the city; perhaps in a new place, Sable would begin to recover emotionally, and have a clean slate to work with. The family did so, moving to St. Paul, Minnesota and enrolling Sable in Bayview Secondary School.

Sable has somewhat recovered since middle school; she has made a few friends, and has even started participating in the school's gymnastics team at the beginning of her senior year. She is still quiet and withdrawn, however, and reveals very little about her past. She doesn't try to overachieve or go into the spotlight because she fears that she will falter and be tormented by others because of it.

Advantages: Sable is very flexible and adaptable, able to dodge most strikes and slip into small spaces while keeping quiet. She also has incredible balance, useful for any tricky escapes that may need to be made.

Disadvantages: While she has some friends, most of the student body considers her that odd little freak who doesn't seem to do much. Will she even try to fight back? With that stay-out-of-the-spotlight attitude, it isn't likely.
