Appearance: Edward Alexandros is an extremely vain individual, and always goes to great lengths to preserve his appearance.  He keeps his dirty-blonde hair long and combs it to avoid any knots or tangles and generally ties it into a braid.  Years of careful facewashing and the use of acne creams at the first sign of trouble have left his oval face with a very clear complexion which blends well with his angular features.  He tends to an olive-complexion, though as spends a great deal of time indoors when he's not swimming he's paler than he should be.  His chin is sharply defined from his neck and has full, dark lips.  His large, slightly hooded eyes are light brown and very expressive.  His figure is trim and fit from exercising, and he's wiry rather than skinny.  His nose is slightly too large for his face.  He stands at five feet, nine inches and weighs in at 155 lbs.  He tends to wear unusual clothes to give him a theatrical appearance, particularly favoring a red jacket with a propensity for flapping in gusts dramatically.

Biography: Born to parents Edgar and Lily Alexandros, a professor of History at Seattle University and a member of a local law firm, respectively, Edward never wanted for much as a child.  According to his father's research, the Alexandros family is directly related to the Hapsburg family through a bastard son of one of its kings.  The idea that he is, in some sense, a prince, has never quite let Edward go, giving him a sense of uniqueness and destiny.  His parents never did much to discourage this idea, and gave their son a great deal of personal leeway and attention.  As the only child of fairly wealthy parents, this led to him being fairly spoiled--his parents first bought him almost whatever candies or toys he desired, paid for any acting classes or gadgets he insisted he needed, and eventually bought him a brand new car.  Though the relationship between them is quite loving, he does take advantage of his parents affections so that his clothes, phone, and car are all unusually expensive.

As a boy, Edward tended to try and draw the attention of others, be it through song, dance, performance, or simply throwing a tantrum.  This gave him a tendency to act out in class, which was met with approval, worry, anger, or exasperation, depending on the teacher.  His parents dismissed any complaints from the teachers, attributing it to their son's intelligence and creativity and going so far as to allow the boy to wear any clothes he wanted (resulting in him wearing an unusual number of costumes to school).  

In the 5th grade, however, Edward's teacher, Mary Carmichael, encouraged him to exert his energies in acting.  Edward tried out for a local production of The King and I and obtained the role of Prince Chulalongkorn, and so began his love affair with the theater, which has continued to this day.

It was only a little later that Edward also developed a passion for music.  Edward had been forced into music lessons of various kinds from a very early age, and while he had a passable voice he had no love for singing or for the trumpet or piano.  During the course of The King and I, however, Edward developed a friendship with an older high school girl who played the violin.  She taught him the basics, and he came to love the instrument.  Though not very talented, he enjoys playing.

Neither music nor theater proved easy love affairs, however.  Because his parents inclination was to spoil him, Edward became somewhat pudgy in middle school and then, prior to his hitting puberty, quite chubby in junior high.  His obesity prevented him from being an effective actor in junior high productions and he was frequently mocked by his peers for his bizarre habits and dress, which had not faded with age.  They especially made him the attention of his school's bullies, who took the opportunity to mock him for being gay and a faggot due to his flamboyant sense of style.

It was during this time that Edward began to work backstage.  After befriending a number of janitors and stage technicians, Edward had access to a large number of dark spaces to work/hide in.  He did not have to deal with people who might mock him or hurt him.  Approximately a year of his life was spent hiding backstage at his junior high, avoiding his peers and learning something of the techniques needed to put together a set.

Upset, isolated, and bullied, Edward gradually came to the conclusion that he needed to work out and convinced his parents to let him join a gym.  He was not very devoted to most forms of exercise—weights and running bored him—but when he heard about a boxing class (just after watching Rocky), he was intrigued, and began to attend regularly.  He became better and better at boxer as he hit puberty, gaining height as well as muscle.  He was briefly suspended for fighting at school in the ninth grade, coincidentally the day he first wore his red coat.  He was never bothered by those who had bullied him again.

As he got more in shape, Edward took to swimming, which provided a nice aerobic activity when he couldn't box and had the benefit of netting him more stares as his physique developed.  Edward is not generally interested in romance, but he does enjoy the attention of others, male or female, platonic or otherwise.  Swimming for him is as much about the attention as it is about the exercise.

Edward has continued to do theater, billing in the main cast of stage plays (though generally only making it into the chorus of musicals, preferring to do backstage work or pit orchestra).  He is a talented actor and a capable stage technician, generally working as a jack-of-all-trades for whatever needs doing on Aurora High and community theater productions.  

The wider pool of students at Aurora High School, and the correspondingly larger theatrical crowd, has given Edward a place to fit in.  He draws most of what he has from this crowd, as they tend to be more permissive of his vanity and eccentricity.  His grades, though rarely bad, are generally less than his intelligence allows, since he cares far more about acting than he does about school.

His obsession with appearance has enabled him to put together an outfit that, while theatrical, also tends to be stylish.  Edward's present take on acting seems to be a delight in immersing himself in roles, trying to force his body and mind to act as though they come from some different background, some different history.  He

Edward is generally good-natured, though also vain and narcissistic.  His childhood sense of destiny has left him absolutely certain that he will be famous in some capacity or another, and though he is arrogant he is also charming and polite.  Though spoiled, Edward is also not without empathy or an awareness of how lucky he is, though he considers his luck to be a sign of destiny.

Advantages: Edward is charming to a fault and somewhat charismatic, so he will have no trouble talking to others.  He is in terrific shape, which couples with his years of boxing will make him somewhat capable of fighting, need be.  And years of work doing stagetech have left him with a working knowledge of electrical systems, construction and carpentry.  
Disadvantages: Edward is spoiled and self-centered, traits which become easily noticeable once anyone gets past his outer layer of charisma.  Edward never had much interest in the outdoors, and so is likely to crumble without modern conveniences.  His obsessive to in some way gain attention to himself is likely to get him into trouble, one way or another.
