Round 1 will be up Soon. If you could double-check the sign-up list on the OP and make sure that I haven't missed you if you've signed up, that'd be great. If you haven't sent in a song yet, you'll have until the end of Round 1 to do so, but sooner is better than later!
"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you."

Semi-Final #1 Results!

It's time for these hits of the past to go back from whence they came.
[+] Eliminated Songs
"Nice & Slow" by Usher, submitted by Buko. It received 28.5 points, including one 8 and one public 7.

"Commander Shepard" by Miracle of Sound, submitted by TheLordOfAwesome. It received 37 points, including one 8 and one 6.

"Blonde & Blue" by Headstones, submitted by D/N. It received 43 points, including one 10.

"Pirate Bones" by Natasha Bedingfield, submitted by Pippi. It received 59.5, including two 8's, two 7's, and one public 10.
Reason: "when i was Babby Pip, all the music I listened to was down to the whims of whatever CD my parents put in the car. Fortunately, they had a Pretty Good Taste in music. The CD this song is on was one that got played for several holidays we took together, which always created good feelings and memories, so the two pretty much go hand in hand!"
The second semi-final round will be up after a short break.

Because I'm very smart and made it so the round will end while I'm still at work, you're going to have a couple more hours than planned. Get those votes in if you haven't.

Semi-Final #2 Results!

Once more we cast these songs back into the olden days where they will stay forevermore.
[+] Eliminated Songs
DQ: "Dragostea Din Tei" by O-Zone, submitted by Kotorikun. It received 71.5 points, including two 12s, a 10, and an 8.

"Brooklyn Roads" by Neil Diamond, submitted by MurderWeasel. It received 24 points, including a 7 and a 6.

Reason: "A long long time ago I did not have a particularly broad pool of music I listened to. I didn't even really understand what about music appealed to people, a lot of the time, and most of what I liked was goofy parodies. But there were just a handful of things that made an impression beyond that, and this was one of them. Neil Diamond wasn't cool then and I'm pretty sure he's not cool now, but there's something he does that nobody else quite manages. Or maybe it's just nostalgia, but after all, that's the point of this exercise to some extent. And of course, it's also what this song is about."

"Sorry, You're Not A Winner" by Enter Shikari, submitted by Deamon. It received 25 points, including three 8s.

"Scary" by Missy Higgins, submitted by Brackie. It received 36 points, including two 7s.
The final round will be up later this evening.
