Dare

Early Day 2, right before the announcements. (Private)

The housing in the town is made up of simple two-story houses, most of these of built in the style of 70s and 80s American suburbs despite being far removed from such a setting. Many of the houses have similar layouts with some divergence: most feature a bottom floor consisting of a kitchen, dining room and living room, a second floor with a master and secondary bedroom, and a bathroom with a tub. A few of the houses have garages, but the vehicles they contained are either gone or have been rendered inoperable.

Roberta fell backwards, the blade splitting her upper face neatly in two. Once on the ground, her body twitched a little bit, but Daenerys knew that this were just automated responses from her nerves. The girl was gone.

D dropped onto the nearby sofa. Her last meal - which had been barely anything - tried to resurface, but she swallowed it down.

Again.

And again.

Until it finally stayed down.

Her eyes fell upon Roberta's backpack, which had been badly damaged. After another minute, she stood up and salvaged it. The weapon had struck right into two of the water bottles, resulting in everything getting wet. The breads and map were soggy and no longer useful. The flashlight was open as well, with some water dropping out when D inspected it, but the batteries seemed fine. But the rest of the things seemed mostly intact. In the end, she was awarded a new windbreaker, a fresh First Aid Kit, four bottles of water, nine energy bars, a second compass, a pair of batteries and an extra duffelbag. Especially the four remaining bottles of water and the energy bars made it a good haul since they lenghtened the time she would be able to stay put before having to look for more food. If it was worth committing murder for this stuff stood on another page D wasn't planning to touch on until she could afford to do so in the safety of Salem. For now, she put most of it in her cooler to the beer and the rest in her own backpack.

The last thing she found was a note telling her that her new opinion booster was called a khopesh. An okayish name, even if Daenerys was unsure on how to pronounce it.

Now she just had to retrieve it.

Unsurprisingly, Roberta's corpse hadn't moved an inch, the khopesh still in her head, its handle now pointing skywards.

Ignoring her disgust, D grabbed it and pulled.

It was stuck.

She pulled again, this time harder.

It was still stuck.

"Crap." She coursed and stepped on Roberta's head to keep it from moving.

This time, the khopesh was released. Daenerys stepped back with her new weapon that was still coated with bits of brain belonging to the previous owner.

She would clean it later.

For now, she just wanted to leave this house and never return.
