John McClellan

NPCs (non-player characters) go here. This section is for characters who will not be participating in the game, including teachers and school administration. To encourage consistency, the staff have created a number of ready-made teachers, all of whom are available for free handler use unless stated otherwise. Please link any appearances these staff make in threads by replying to their topics. For this pregame, any additional NPCs will require staff approval on a case-by-case basis. Please contact staff if you wish to create any NPCs, and note that we will generally be trying to keep their numbers slim; pregame is, first and foremost, about the students.

John McClellan

Post by backslash »

Name: John McClellan
Position: History Teacher
Gender: Male
Age: 61

Appearance: Mr. McClellan is rather notably overweight, at 5'8" and 181 pounds. He is Caucasian, with a ruddy and somewhat splotchy complexion. He has a rotund figure which is generally not flattered by his assortment of plaid button-down shirts and khaki slacks, his usual teaching attire. He is heavily balding and his remaining hair is gray going on white, styled in a wispy comb-over. His eyes are dark brown, magnified by his thick glasses. Mr. McClellan moves and speaks slowly, and his voice has a thick southern drawl.

Biography/Personality: John McClellan has taught all around the school districts of southern Tennessee for a good 35 years, though his enthusiasm has noticeably waned over the last decade. He took the open position at George Hunter High School for the slightly better pay than at his old establishment, and is almost certainly going to be the first faculty member to retire. Mr. McClellan is the sort to grouse about the good old days and complain about how today's teenagers are spoiled and lazy and no longer care about school. For all that, he is not particularly harsh with discipline and grades; it's obvious that he is more or less going through the motions as retirement approaches. He's unpopular for his personality and un-engaging teaching style, but his classes are easy to slack off in or derail, as he is easily distracted and goaded into rambling on unrelated topics.
"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you."
