Post by blastinus »

Name: Drew Thomas O'Reilly
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Grade: 12th
School: Bayview Secondary School
Hobbies and Interests: Putting together models, automobile work, basketball, and weightlifting

Appearance:
Drew is a fairly muscular man, standing at 5'11" and weighing 180 pounds. His blond hair is neatly groomed and cut, giving it a very fluffy appearance. He's got brown eyes, which usually tell a different story than his face. While he'll usually be smiling, his eyes don't have any humor in them, as if he's always hiding something. While he typically wears long-sleeved shirts, on the rare occasions he wears a T-shirt, one can see visible scars on his arms from working with machines that occasionally have rather sharp edges.
Drew's wardrobe is mostly designed for comfort, but he likes to have a little bit of style. His typical wardrobe consists of cargo pants or khakis, with a variaty of plaid shirts, usually with the top two buttons left unbuttoned. He'll typically wear a black or white undershirt underneath that. Drew's footwear is almost entirely sneakers, but he'll occasionally wear a pair of brown formal shoes.

Biography:
Drew was the son of a mechanical engineer, and his father was an electrical engineer. The youngest of three kids, the remaining two of which were both girls who just wanted to go into accounting and the military, respectively, Drew found himself subtly hinted, requested, and almost outright ordered to carry on his family's long-lasting tradition of going to M.I.T., the alma mater of his father, his grandfather, all the way up to seven generations. All this pressuring from his father resulted in his two older sisters getting hardly any attention at all, a fact which they took out on their younger brother whenever dear old dad's back was turned.

Drew didn't mind being saddled with what he was going to do in life, seeing as this was just the way it worked in his house. Either you conformed to what the parents expected of you, or they prodded you in the direction they wanted. Either way, you would eventually be folllowing the plan, and you would like it. Whenever someone completely jumped off the bandwagon, in the case of his sisters, they would find themselves thrown mostly out of family life. The parents paid tuition for them, but they were gone and expected not to return expect for a few awkward weeks of break every now and then.

Naturally, when one has his sights set on M.I.T., one has to get exceptional grades and have excellent recommendations. Faced with the realization that he was not a super genius, Drew decided to do the next best thing and fake it. Whether by cheating, brown-nosing to the extreme, or hurting other people's reputations, Drew fought tooth and nail to pass the pack. He also took up sports, began exercising every day, and practiced as often as he could with constructing whatever models he got his hands on. From a simple toothpick sculpture to a remote-control robot, he practiced with all sorts of doohickeys, knowing that any experience he got would look great on a transcript.

Besides his petty motivations though, Drew is himself somewhat delusional about his believed perfection, making him unable to take blame for anything. It's gotten to the point where he'll almost reflexively blame someone else for his own faults, often for very silly reasons. He does not like people, considering them just obstacles to his own success, rather than actual human beings. He'll suck up to people in positions of power, whether teachers or fellow students, and once he's got whatever he wants done from them, he'll proceed to forget they exist again.

Advantages: Drew is a great mechanic, good at putting stuff together or taking stuff apart. He's quite strong, and very capable with anything electronic. He's also a pretty good schemer, but most of the time he's just winging it.

Disadvantages: Drew is a jerk, plain and simple. He can easily rub people the wrong way as a result. He is also a whiner and a massive ego. His inability to take responsibility is a knee-jerk reflex at this point, often bending his judgement around himself to the point where he shoots his mouth off or does stupid things without thinking about it.
