Second Return of the Revenge of the Son of MW's Relationship Planning Thread

Turns out "Bump Topic" is a member tool whoops

V7 Pregame is on the way! As such this is the place where you can find friends, rivals, romantic partners, hobby groups and much more! You can start planning threads of your own in this forum to sort out any specific relationships you want for your characters, or you can cruise around others' threads looking for something that would work for your character. Please note that V7 Pregame is still in the future; this forum is merely to allow for more direct and focused planning now that class and location details have been revealed.

Second Return of the Revenge of the Son of MW's Relationship Planning Thread

#1

Post by Grand Moff Hissa »

So, I was gonna write all my profiles before starting V7 planning. Then I realized that's gonna take forever. As such, I'm gonna now make a thread for the four five six concepts I've got in passably settled shape and add the last two as they it come(s) together. What I'm looking for: friends, enemies, romantic partners, exes, dudes-who-sit-behind-you-and-cheat-off-your-tests, etc. Basically anything!

Fair warning: I am mercurial when it comes to concepts and my characters are never settled until their profiles are through the first draft (hence the delay in making this), so I reserve the right to change my mind or call renegotiations if stuff slides so something no longer makes sense.

Phillip Olivares is in most ways a fairly mild-mannered Christian kid but as his asthma prevented him from following the athletic footsteps of his brother and childhood friend group he found himself feeling somewhat isolated until finding a new community among fans of the rap group Insane Clown Posse. He managed to assuage his parents concerns about his juggalo interests by highlighting the Christian underpinnings of the group, and his improved grades and social life have led to them mostly accepting his fandom. Phillip is fairly thoughtful and enjoys analysis of stories and pursuit of meaning, often explaining the irony and subtle literary talent of his favorite musicians when he finds a willing audience. He's fond of telling jokes and occasionally dresses up rather wildly, but most of the time is content to slide under the radar.

  • Violet Schmidt is cool because if she's not totally down with the clown she's at least a little bit down, down enough to listen.
  • Lucas Diaz is for some reason never super social; what gives there?
  • Max Rudolph needs to learn that it's deeds that matter and not harmless words and stories.
  • Mercy Ames could maybe be a little bit more open-minded about the clown thing; it's really a shame when otherwise-analytical people won't budge on preconceptions.
  • Ned Jackson is downish with the clown, and hey, that's way more than you can say about most people.
  • Zachary Beck thinks disliking something makes him cool. His loss.
  • Abraham "Abe" Watanabe laughs, and a laugh's a laugh. And a good discussion is also a good discussion. Cool guy.
  • Asante Esiason is pretty sweet, someone else who likes dressing like you're having fun. I'm not into DBZ but heck, most people aren't into ICP so I'm not gonna judge.
  • Artem Fyodorov is into vampires and that's sorta like killer clowns and hey, it's all good, man.
  • Nia Karahalios actually listens to the stuff I talk about. Score!
  • Mikki Swift is into "serious" music but maybe someday she'll realize just how serious ICP can be.
Juliette Sargent is a nice girl who's always there to listen and eager to help a friend in need. She also aspires to capture the role of class president, and to this end has turned to active campaigning for much of the year, making an attempt to leverage her generally good reputation and her interpersonal skills towards her ends. She comes from a somewhat troubled home life; her parents went through a messy divorce when she was young and her mom is in the process of splitting from her second husband, so Juliette finds some of the agency she lacks in her family by taking active roles with responsibility in her other hobbies.

  • Lucas Diaz is an odd one, and honestly it kinda hurts getting a door in the face but everyone has their baggage, right?
  • Max Rudolph may not like me, but the question is does he like me better than all the other options?
  • Violet Schmidt is a pretty cool person and it's good to be there for your peers. Nice to have it returned once in a while.
  • Keisha Higgins-Bell is useful and cool, an important relationship to cultivate. All press is good press and good press is great press.
  • Kelly Nguyen is another good, kind soul--just what the world needs more of.
  • Janie Lyons is on the council too, and also knows that sometimes compromise is key. Perhaps something mutually advantageous can be arranged here.
  • Yuki Hayashibara is great to spend time on school stuff with--especially since she also appreciates good music.
  • If Abe Watanabe doesn't care about the election, that's fine. Maybe that can be leveraged into a vote anyways.
  • Yuri Kim is a good person, and our ambitions are compatible. That makes her a valuable ally.
  • Dante Valiero flirts with me some. As long as he's polite about it that's okay.
  • Ivy Langley is a valuable asset, to be managed rather carefully.
  • Lucas Abernathy is okay enough, but we just aren't compatible in the way he seems to want.
  • Sierra Cook isn't as scary as she can seem at a glance. Sometimes all it takes to befriend a good person is a little patience and respect.
Alton Gerow is a charmer and a bit of a scoundrel. Raised by a single mother in a bad part of Denton, New Jersey, until near the end of middle school, his entire life turned around when his mom won a substantial sum in the state lottery and relocated them to Chattanooga due mostly to a romanticized picture painted by a song she knew from her childhood. Almost half a decade later, Alton still isn't quite settled into his new situation, having gone from scrambling by on food stamps to realizing that as long as he's content to live a fairly modest life he probably will never have to work unless he feels like it. His easygoing attitude and willingness to take interest in what others enjoy wins him a lot of friends, but his tendency to push boundaries can make some uncomfortable.

[+] Alton Relationships
  • Max Rudolph thinks the state lottery is different from fate's lottery. What a fool.
  • Violet Schmidt seems to watch me sometimes. Now why could that be?
  • Adele Jones takes it easy, and that's the best way to take it.
  • Ned Jackson is into anime stuff and hey, cool, not totally my thing but anythng's worth a go or two.
  • Zachary Beck's another wild card. That can go a whole lot of ways, but it'll certainly be interesting.
  • Yuri Kim is into a few things that are very intriguing to me. I bet we can get along. Image
  • Dante Valiero is a kindred spirit.
  • Axel Fontaine is always good for a laugh and a tune.
  • Ivy Langley may look down on me, but that just makes it more fun to try to coax a smile.
  • Sierra Cook was fun to date for a while, and we can both respect what we were and what we ae now.
  • Lucas Abernathy is a reliable client. Good stuff.
Lavender Ripley is the daughter of a mildly eccentric lawyer with a particular interest in civil rights cases, especially as pertains to the education system. Lavender has picked up this focus herself, and is very very keen on issues of civil rights. A member of student council and the cheer squad, she's popular and easygoing in most situations but turns dead serious when her buttons are pushed. One area in which she doesn't line up too well with her liberal cohorts is on the issue of guns; she's gone shooting with her family since she was fairly young and is a passionate fan of the sport.

[+] Lavender Relationships
  • Astor Maradona is a good guy. He's got some real ideas, and his brother's on the council so there's that element of connection.
  • Mercy Ames knows a bit about being misjudged. She's a good squadmate too.
  • Keisha Higgins-Bell is great. It's awesome that the squad has so many people with great ideas and kind hearts.
  • Alexander Brooke is a cool guy I maybe had something with once. Sometimes I still listen to DM.
  • Chris Bright has great ideas. This is the sort of knight the world needs right now.
  • Yuri Kim is cool and all but come on, sometimes you've gotta stand up for what you believe in even when it's tough.
  • Dante Valiero is, well, I suppose the attention can be flattering.
  • Ivy Langley... we may have to have words.
  • Ian Cortés is a sweetie if a bit weird. I like cheering him on.
  • Lucas Abernathy was fun for a time. No hard feelings.
Library Vee is a quiet, philosophical artist struggling with the aftermath of serious injuries sustained due to his own negligence. Frustrated by what he sees as his loss of potential, he tries to coast through his days and considers it a win if nothing sets him off. He gets along best with really boring normal people who are willing to play Go with him and talk about art or ethics. He is perhaps just a little bit pretentious about these things.

[+] Library Relationships
  • Lucas Abernathy is good to talk art with. At the same time, he's not overly threatening.
  • Yuki Hayashibara is a good Go partner, and she'll talk about the things that interest me. Triplets, though...
Misty Browder is a girl who holds more or less conservative/alt right views, with a few exceptions (she doesn't have any beef with homo/bisexuality and she's into witchcraft). She plays badminton and gets on well with other conservative kids. When it comes to those not on her wavelength, she takes a certain glee in winding them up and giving them grief. Looking for friends, people Misty has antagonized, exes, maybe some hobby/religion buddies.

[+] Old News
I'm probably gonna add two one more characters here, but right now it is what it is. I mentioned a guy called Shane back in the concepts thread and maybe he'll still be in V7 but also maybe not with how i'm thinking right now, so he's not here yet. As always, I plan to leave at least one character home and may kill my whole cast first post in a fit of pique, so don't pick me for any absolutely 100% required island role or you'll be disappointed.
