Name: Spike Havighurst
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Grade: 12
School: John Endecott Memorial Academy
Hobbies and Interests: (Nu-) metal and punk, working out, reading books, music festivals
Appearance: Spike is 6'0" tall and weighs 184 pounds. The results of his exercising is visible in his toned muscles. He has a top-heavy build. While his muscular arms would normally be relatively hairy, he tries to shave them weekly to appear better.
His naturally red hair is cut to a buzz cut. He also has his red-brown, square goatee which he maintains every third day. Because of the beard he also appears older, having been mistaken for an adult back when he was seventeen, which made it easier for him to buy drinks without being asked for an ID.
He has brown eyes and bushy eyebrows with a piercing on his right one. His skin is light and his face is diamond-shaped. He also has a mole on the back of his head that is sometimes visible through his hair. He has a big pointed nose and a defined face due to his slim cheeks.
In school, his facial expression is often grumpy or cold, but when he is happy enough to show some teeth with a big wide smile, they are slightly yellow.
He regularly wears his black classic wayframe glasses (20/70 vision). He chooses to wear eye contacts for festivals for the mosh pits. He usually wears henleys or flannel shirts with jeans. On the day of the abduction, he wore a red flannel shirt with light-blue jeans. Underneath it he wears a white tank top. His left arm is full of festival bracelets.
Biography: In 2003 Spike was born to Eddie and Adriana Havighurst in Salem, MA. Eddie is a carpenter who was born in Ontario but moved to Salem, Massachusetts for his apprenticeship, Adriana is a Salem-born cashier. They met each other through a dating website. Both worked enough to collectively make ends meet and could afford to have a child together. They live in the apartment of Adriana's deceased parents so they do not have to worry about the space, financially. They are a loving family and take care of Spike. Their relationship is good.
In elementary school Spike was a lonely kid, often playing by himself in the breaks. The teachers, having noticed, said he appeared to be alone all of the time and encouraged him to interact more with his classmates. Spike listened to the teachers and began to play more with his classmates. He enjoyed playing sports with the other kids and in the course of his school career, he tried out different kinds of sports and enjoyed most of them. He especially liked playing football and basketball with his classmates, due to being able to put all his energy into that. Though he also enjoys non-team sports as well such as swimming and track, as he did not need to rely on others but only focus on himself.
A big part of his family is also his bull terrier, Joey, who he has owned since he was twelve. Spike loved dogs since his childhood and loved to visit Eddie's mother Josephine and her dog, who live in Canada and whom they regularly visit on holidays. Spike wanted his parents to have a dog too, and eventually, his parents decided to give him a dog as a birthday present that would also give the young Spike more responsibility. Spike enjoys taking care of Joey and Joey makes Spike happy; Spike considers their companionship as a friendship.
Spike grew up listening to Iron Maiden as both Eddie and Adriana were big fans of the band and metal in general. In his early teenage years, he was also introduced to Linkin Park's earlier works through friends whose style of music he really enjoyed because of the songs filled with energy. He did not like the stuff they released at the time, because of how poppy and electronic it sounded. He soon discovered more nu-metal bands like Limp Bizkit or Slipknot and would regularly visit music stores on Essex Street to discover more metal or rock records. His current favourite band is System of a Down, as he enjoys the sound of their albums.
Spike is not a fan of US politics, especially Canon's handling of social issues as well as SOTF. He wants to have a fair world and wants to protect and support the weak. In his daily life, he wants to act accordingly. He also has dived into punk because of the punk phases both of his parents had in their youth so he had early access to the records, though he only appreciated them later when he appreciated the political side of metal as well. His favorite hardcore band is Minor Threat.
His enjoyment of physical activity holds on to this day as in his free time Spike likes to work out. He regularly visits the gym, three to four times a week, mainly working out in row machines and weights. He likes to burn off his energy and it makes him feel better about himself. In the gym he also got closer with some classmates he knows from school. Spike only has a close group of friends he regularly sees, as he is still someone who prefers to be alone in his free time, as sometimes social interaction feels exhausting to him. He does not join any extracurricular clubs, because his training is time-consuming as is. He still enjoys PE class or the occasional spontaneous basketball game with friends though.
Spike is proud of his body and sometimes posts selfies of himself on Instagram to boost his ego - most of the pictures being without his glasses as he does not like wearing them.
When Spike has enough money he loves to go to festivals and concerts to watch his favourite bands perform live. He has a collection of all of his festival bracelets and proudly wears them. During festivals he likes to meet new people and talk to them as he is having a good time there. He also likes to drink alcoholic drinks there that he gets from friends who are older than him. He enjoys being drunk as he is most often more happy and talkative and finds it easier to talk to strangers.
Spike is not exactly shy, but is very careful of his words and values politeness. He is a rather relaxed person who likes to do things on his own and do things his way. In school he is not a talkative fellow as he is very thoughtful and careful of his words, though he is not afraid to speak up if a weaker student is threatened. Some kids respect him for committing himself to others, especially for weaker students who cannot verbally defend themselves, when there is either a debate going on or when there is bullying involved.
There is no school subject he struggles with as he is a very focused student. Aside from PE, Spike favours English classes as he loves literature in general. He is reading a lot of books in his free time - ranging from classic novels to books about how to train your body to entertaining books like thrillers. He also likes poetry and recently discovered different forms of performance poetry such as slam poetry or dub poetry. His favourite poet is Benjamin Zephaniah and he is a fan of him as a person and his views on various subjects as well.
After high school, Spike aspires to become a social worker as he wants to have a job that can help people in need.
Advantages: Spike is an athletic fellow who is strong and may appear threatening. He also is a confident and careful person who would be able to lead a group.
Disadvantages: Spike's desire to protect the weak could cause him more harm than good. He is nearsighted and relies on his glasses or contacts to see.

Hello RC, currently Spike is denied pending some changes which are listed below. There's nothing really objectional about Spike content-wise which is great, so it's mostly grammatical hangups and little things I have to pick on to clean up the profile. The second biggest thing I ask for is more information. You know that I love a short profile, but Spike's is a little too brief in places. Finally, if I recall correctly, Spike is a V7 profile repurposed for V8 and certain details need to be updated to the current version. With all that said, let's begin.
In the school section, please write out the school’s full name: John Endecott Memorial Academy.

He also has his red-brown, square goatee, he maintains every third day. > He also has his red-brown, square goatee which he maintains every third day.
How old does the beard make him appear? Does it tend to confuse fellow students and teachers?
Try to keep the different ‘topics’ of the appearance section together to make it easier to read. The first paragraph is mostly about his body but has a detail about his head/facial features mixed in (his expression), and the second paragraph is mostly about his head and face but has details about his body (the hair on his arms). If you want to make minimal changes, keep the first paragraph all about his body type; after his height and weight, mention his build and body hair. In the second paragraph when you’re talking about his face, start with the easiest things to notice: Hair color, hair style and facial hair, eye color, then details like his face shape, markings such as the mole on the back of his head, nose shape (which is currently missing), cheeks, piercings, and finally his expression once you’ve described his face. Then clothing, including his glasses (or contacts depending on the event).
Biography section
Spike was born to Eddie Havighurst and his wife Adriana in Salem. > Since they’re married, you can refer to them as Eddie and Adriana Havighurst (if Adriana chose to keep her own last name you’d mention that instead). Also, when was Spike born? And I know I’m meant to assume Salem, Massachusetts, but please include the state where he was born (notably, there’s a Salem, Oregon, and a Salem, New Hampshire so it’s best to avoid confusion).
Eddie is a carpenter who was born in Ontario but moved to Chattanooga for his apprenticeship, Adriana is a Salem-born cashier. > Be sure to include the ‘Tennessee’ after Chattanooga. How did the couple choose to live together in Massachusetts as opposed to Tennessee? (Or more likely, that Chattanooga is just supposed to be Salem, Massachusetts because this was originally a V7 profile, right?)
Both worked enough together to make ends meet and could afford having a child. > Both worked enough to collectively make ends meet and could afford to have a child together.
We can safely assume they had some benchmark for how much money would be deemed ‘enough’ but, practically, was it enough money so they had a large enough apartment? A small house? Do they get any support from Adriana’s side of the family since she’s a Salem local and so she probably has family nearby?
In elementary Spike was > in elementary school Spike was
He enjoyed playing sports with the other kids and in the course of his school career he tried out different kind of sports and enjoys most of them. > ‘Kind’ to ‘Kinds’, ‘enjoys’ to ‘enjoyed’ (I know he must still enjoy them, but this is a tense issue of the sentence). Also what sports did he enjoy? Put a comma after career.
How often does Spike visit his paternal grandmother, since I assume she still lives in Canada (and if she doesn’t, mention that). ‘Also would’ to ‘would also’. What breed of dog is Joey?
Spike grew up with Iron Maiden as both Eddie and Adriana have been big fans > ‘grew up listening to Iron Maiden’, ‘Eddie and Adriana were big fans’.
In his early teenage years he also was introduced to Linkin Park > ‘was also’. How was he introduced to them (parents, friends, radio, some other way), and why did the emotional lyrics vibe with him so much?
He soon discovered more nu metal bands like for example Limp Bizkit > remove the ‘for example’. Don't forget the hyphen in nu-metal.
would regularly visit Off The Record > When you mention a place like this that isn’t a national chain like McDonald's, make sure to specify what it is. Like, ‘local music shop Off the Record’. That said, I think this is a holdover from when this was a V7 profile because it’s a location in V7 pregame. Might have to change this to visiting a music store in the mall or something.
His current favourite band is System of a Down, as he enjoys the sound of their albums and also because he loves the political messages they have since his political views are identical to theirs. He specifically likes their criticism on US politics, he himself is not a big fan of, specifically the politics of Canon and McAllister. > Get rid of the comma after ‘US politics’. This is a lore nitpick but since SOAD was only active with new material up to 2006, their music would actually be primarily about Bush (who was president from 2001 to 2004 in the SotF-verse and President Aaron Bridges (2005-2008), the stand-in for Bush’s second term. While SoaD frontman Serj Tankian has expressed some conflicting views with Obama’s, that isn’t reflected in their songs which were written before Obama took office (and therefore McAllister). The reasoning for his liking SoaD’s music is sound because they can be a very political band between their more dadaist works, but their criticisms were hardly (if ever) about… in this universe, Canon or McAllister.
though he only appreciated them later, when he appreciated the political side of metal as well. > remove the comma
Does Spike play any sports in high school? He’s physically active and in very good shape, so if he doesn’t, why not? Swimming isn’t mentioned in his exercise regimen, so how does he maintain a swimmer’s physique (it is possible to have one through certain strict exercise regimens but the body type is so-called because the best way to get it is from swimming)?
Advantages/Disadvantages
He only has a selected group of people he would trust > this is not really a disadvantage for two reasons: reason one, just about every student on the island would be reluctant to trust anybody outside of their closest friends or family due to the nature of the game, so it doesn’t exactly set him apart. Second, a lack of trust can just as easily serve as an advantage instead since it means you are less willing to put yourself at the mercy of others. That being said, Spike DOES have an advantage built into the profile I think you should include, which is his desire to protect and support the weak. Contrary to the existing disadvantage that should be removed, this value of his has a real risk of coming back to bite him because it means putting himself in unnecessary danger to try and save others, not to mention allowing somebody to take advantage of him if they recognize his desire to protect the weak, hiding behind him to wait out the game.
That's just about it. When you get these fixed up, get back to me and I'll give Spike another look.

Almost done! Just a grammar sweep now; fix them up and Spike should be good.
6"0' > 6'0"
In school his facial expression > comma after school
On the day of abduction he > on the day of the abduction, he ('the' and comma)
He also regularly wears > You don't need the 'also' because you're not referring to anything before this
whom they regularily > regularly
Spike wanted his parents to have a dog too, and eventually > comma after eventually
In his early teenage years > comma
In his daily life > comma
time consuming > time-consuming
spontanous > spontaneous
Instagram should be capitalized
and he is a fan of him as person > as a person
After high school > comma
Spike's desire to protect the weak could cause him more harm and he is nearsighted. > Spike's desire to protect the weak could cause him more harm than good. He is nearsighted and relies on his glasses or contacts to see. (How nearsighted is he, actually? Losing my glasses would be a pretty severe disadvantage since my vision is 20/350, but for others, it's not so severe so I'm just wondering about how screwed he is if somebody removes his visual aids)
