SONGTEST #98 TIME
ONE-HIT WONDERS
Yes apparently National One-Hit Wonder Day is an actual thing and it's in September but hey, I got pressed into service as the 4th place "winner" of the last songtest so what exactly do you expect? Also looks like I only get a chance to host these things about once every 18 months so I'm not gonna wait till the calendar falls into place or anything.
So yes, I will be your humble host for today's Songtest and am throwing the doors open to any of your varied opinions of One-Hit Wonder bands or artists! I will be fairly lax in considering what denotes "One Hit", so don't feel you need to go by the vaguely defined versions or lists, although you're certainly free to use them as guidelines.
So basically, any artist known mostly exclusively for one song, or one album, or one year is fine. Artists who are one-hit wonders in your vast and varied homelands but had success elsewhere will probably be fine. Submitting Jimi Hendrix and saying "WELL TECHNICALLY HE ONLY HAD ONE TOP-40 SONG" is not fine and I will yell at you and ask you to choose something else pretty please?
All the normal rules follow, as I blithely note that we still talk about likely semi-final rounds even though it looks like it's been just straight to finals recently:
Will be taking submissions up to, oh let's say 11:59 PM Thursday February 3rdish. Songtest will then commence over the weekend so no excuses for not voting!
