DEFINITELY Would Not Rec!
After fifth announcement. Ask first because people are dying.
DEFINITELY Would Not Rec!
((Ty Hartley continued from Would Not Rec!))
Time has passed, and the announcements came and went. Ashlee was dead, shot by that weirdo Karin Han. And guess what? Karin had done more, too. Shannon was dead, too. Ty knew Ashlee better, of course, so she could reserve more anger about her than Shannon, but like, that meant freak Karin was a killer. Lovely.
She hated feeling impotent.
Rebekah was dead, too. That was also lovely. Rebekah was also a weirdo sometimes, but she was a cool weirdo. And now she was dead.
So yeah, they’d just been hanging out here, to be honest. And Ty wanted to go out, find Quinn, find Karin, find Bethany. Find anyone, anyone, who could make her feel less impotent.
But right now they were taking shifts. Ty was the only one awake right now, seated in an armchair. And the other two were dozing. Admittedly, she thought about walking out again, trying her odds once more.
But she didn’t.
Maybe because last time it didn’t work out?
Eventually, sleep took her too. She tried to keep her eyes open, but it wasn’t enough.

The game night had been long.
((Derek Caldwell continued from Would Not Rec!))
As exected, being the sole player with previous experience meant Derek earned the most wins. He didn't really care. Hell, now and then he even held back. Abel would have realized and called him out for it, but Abel was thankfully not here.
Abel was still home. Not a good place, but a better than this island.
Those thoughts would have drifted through Derek's mind had he been awake. Instead, he sat in a chair, head leaning against the wall. The nodachi was on his lap. Sleeping with it in his hands had become a weird ritual providing a faint sense of security.
His dreams were all over the place. The kind of dreams one wouldn't remember once awake. But for now, they were a nice vacation frrom reality, however obscure.

Chiara Masina was not the kind of girl to keep a dream journal. There were times she could remember a specific image or phrase from her dreams, but she always kept those to herself or let them disappear like dandelion seeds in the wind. She never really thought to remember her dreams. She wasn't pulling makeup ideas from them, nor was she using them to rethink anything in her life, like how she felt about people around her.
It was probably a good thing she couldn't remember most of her dreams since she was abducted. She couldn't fully remember if they were nightmares or peaceful. Derek's mangled hand never stuck with her once she opened her eyes, nor did the image of the dead girl stay seared.
If Chiara was someone who kept a dream journal or paid attention to good dreams, this would have been the time to do so. As Chiara slept on the couch of the rec room, not stirring when the announcements came on, she found herself in a state of peace.
It would be the last time she was in one while she was here.

Her hopes of finding an easy target had been dashed by the time Danya's voice came over the speakers.
((Daenerys "D" Todd continued from White Light))
It made sense if one thought about it. It was the sixth day. Odds were that those who would be naive enough to sleep in places that were easy to find had already died for their failure to adapt to the situation. Daenerys shouldn't expect to encounter another Roberta ever again.
At least that was her thinking before opening the door to the rec room.
In the dim light, a girl sat upright in a chair, pretty much in the middle of the room. It was clear D's classmate was sleeping.
Next to her was a backpack. Just what she needed.
For a few seconds, D moved not an inch.
The girl didn't either.
Calming her breath and leaving the cooler behind, Daenerys stepped into the room. The trident was firmly in her hands.

In reality, Ty did not move.
In her dreams, Ty was playing lawn games with the rest of the Betties. They grabbed their croquet mallets, each with their preferred color. Ty was silver, Betty Black was blue, Betty Quinn was red, Betty Sadberry was yellow, Betty Dixon was pink. The usual colors they picked when they could, honestly.
Ethan was a ball. He tumbled through the grass as she hit him under giant-sized hoops.
They talked about things that felt normal, like gossip and the game they were playing and school and how Rebekah and Ashlee were absolutely dead and how cold it was in the summer air. Chiara and Derek were there, too, and the other Betties ignored them as they played a tile game on the back porch table. Storm was there, too, curled up into a brown and black ball laying against Mr. Perez’s body sprawled nearby.
In reality, she mumbled something barely audible about croquet.
In her dreams, she laughed at a funny joke.

Inching closer allowed Daenerys to recognize her opponent.
It was one member of the Betty Rangers. She wasn't sure how many of them had been on the trip, but one of them was a killer, according to what Jezzie said back at the hot springs. Remembering that moment four days ago made D feel sick, so she stopped thinking about it.
Instead she focussed on the Betty in front of her. There were two options, and neither was appealing. Killing Betty would earn her a fourth mention on the announcement, making her stand out all the more. Not killing Betty came with the danger of retalitation.
No, it wasn't retaliation Daenerys feared.
Roberta had pretty much dared her to finish her off.
Abhishek had picked a fight, but D had been the one to strike first.
Corbin had been a safety measure.
And now she was thinking about stabbing Betty in her sleep just because she had a good opportunity.
Each time she killed, the reasons became flimsier.
For a few seconds, she stood in front of the sleeping girl, unsure how to proceed.

Then, Ty opened her eyes.
She slowly lifted her head. Blinked. For a second, she thought it was Chiara or Derek standing in front of her. A few more seconds of processing.
That’s when she snapped fully awake back to reality.
That was Daenerys, the girl on the swim team with a dumb fantasy name who killed like, three people. She had killed Margaret, she had killed that moron Abhi, she had killed Corbin. Ty was staring face-to-face with a killer.
If she had hurt Derek or Chiara…
Her fists tightened.
“What are you doing?” she asked, scowling.
Her heart sped up. Her blood boiled.
That was a rhetorical question. Ty knew exactly what she was doing. Oh, she knew. She reached for the gun in her pocket, sliding it out.

Just a few seconds of hesitation.
That was all it took for Betty to wake up.
With that, the choice had been made for Daenerys. No stealthing away with the backpack.
By the time Betty raised something, D had had poised herself to strike. Just as that something got pointed at her, she swung the trident.

The gun slid out of Ty’s hand as the pole struck her arm.. But that didn’t stop her.
Despite the fact she’d just woken up, adrenaline surged in quickly.
She snarled.
And lunged forward.

Just as Daenerys intended, the weapon flew out of Betty's hand. Unfortunately this swing also taught her how unused she was to her own. The trident had a pretty different feeling than the khopesh. D grit her teeth, not finding her balance fast enough for a follow-up attack.
Betty used this opening to jump up and rush at her, fists flying disturbingly fast for someone who just woke up.
The first punch was still too far away, but interrupted D's attempt at readying her weapon. With how long the trident was, she would need some distance to use it properly.
The second punch hit closer to home, forcing Daenerys to step back. Betty followed, ensuring that she was too close for comfort.

– Ty aimed a fist at her face, pushing her against the wall.
Fuck her. Fuck DumbFantasyShitName for trying to be sneaky, fuck her for the people she hurt, fuck her if she even looked at the other two before Ty had woken up, just fuck her in general.
She reached to hold her in place by her arm.
Another attempted swing at the face with the other fist.
Another.
Another.
The sounds filled the room, but the bloodrush dulled the sounds, dulled everything.

The first punch that hit hit hard.
Just as D's back hit a wall, Betty's fist smashed right into the left side of her face, where Abhi had given her a hole not too long ago. With a nasty ripping sound, the stitched wound reopened, blood quickly flowing out.
"FFFUCK!"
The trident clattered to the ground as Betty held her against the wall, letting more hits follow. The pain of her left cheek once more having a slit large enough to eat through made everything else pale in comparison.
Turning the pain into rage, Daenerys pushed herself off the wall, managing to make Betty retreat a few steps.
Just barely enough for D to grab the nearest thing - a neon sign of her good friend Coors that hung on the wall - and smash it over Bettys head where it bursted into thousand pieces.

And just like that, whatever Chiara had been dreaming about shattered with the sounds of the girls' fight. Chiara's eyes snapped open and she quickly shot up. She could see Ty was currently fighting another girl. She couldn't exactly tell who it was, but it didn't matter. The three of them had been careless, and a killer had snuck into the room.
Chiara quickly rolled off the couch and saw as the invader grabbed something off the wall and slammed it over Ty's head. Chiara winced at the sight.
Her breathing started to increase as she quickly fumbled into her pocket and found her gun. She quickly turned off the safety and stood up, facing the girls.
However, in the darkness of the room, Chiara wasn't sure who was who. As a result, she was left standing there with bed hair, smeared makeup, and an arm that was starting to find the gun heavier than normal.

Oh, they are fighting again.
That was Derek's first thought when the sounds of the altercation woke him up. It was unusal, but nothing surprising. While his parents prefered to just scream at each other, things got physical now and then. Derek just hoped that Abel was safely in his room with his old headset, hearing music loud enough to drown out the...
It was around this moment that Derek remembered he was no longer at home.
Instantly, he was wide awake. Jumping up from his resting place, he found his companion doing the same.
That meant the it was Ty on the other side of the room fighting with whoever had found them.
In the darkness, Derek had trouble making out the attacker. It was a girl, that much was sure. But it could be anyone.
His heart attempted to burst.
This was totally different from his first brush with violence when he was robbed by Donovan. Back then it had been tense, but also kinda unreal. Derek had just awoken on the island, not yet fully on board mentally with the situation. Now, he wittnessed a clear fight. It was the sixth day, so no one could excuse themselves with "I was still scared from seeing my teachers dying" or other cowardly crap. Someone had started this fight with the intention to harm, if not kill.
His fully functional hand found the nodachi. The quiet girl was readying her gun, and this time for once Derek was not going to stop her.
"Hey! Get away from each other right now!"

The glass shattered around Ty’s head. She felt the shards bite and nip at her face. Somewhere in the back of her head, she heard someone shouting.
They were awake. They were alive.
Ty’s hand ached. She could see red splotches on them, probably busted them some while punching. Her head ached, from getting hit with the neon sign.
She reached up to grab Daenerys by the throat, to keep her further in place. She pushed her further back against the wall, using her size as weight.
“Do something!” she snarled back at the other two. “She’s– she’s killed people, she snuck up on me with a trident!”
She wasn’t normally this violent. Sure, she was the fighty one of her friend group, maybe the entire class even. But if you sneak around her like that, while having a kill count? She wasn’t going to back down easily.
Tie her up. Shoot her. Strangle her. Help pin her down. Give her what she deserved.
Anything that she deserved. Anything that would help.
