She loves classic Victorian literature and romance poetry, and is a huge fan of Shakespeare. Carla is married and has no children, but has long since outgrown any notion of her students being "her kids" in any sense. She is closely eyeing retirement, and while she maintains the same fondness for the material she teaches, is simply waiting for her career to wind down. She will tolerate a certain level of "kids will be kids" behavior in her class, but is inclined to administer harsh punishments for students she deems to be disrespecting either her or the subject material. She rarely allows for make-up exams and brooks no excuses for late work or missed homework.
