Appearance: Koa stands at 6’4” and weighs 277 lbs, making him notably overweight for his age. Whilst his endomorphic physique gives off the impression that his weight mostly consists of fat, particularly when it comes to his broad waist and shoulders, a fair amount of his weight can actually be attributed to muscle. Indeed his physical strength is very impressive, and he’s quicker on his feet than most would assume at first glance, granted his long-term endurance leaves much to be desired.

Koa is of mixed Polynesian descent, his father Samoan and mother Hawaiian, with smooth light brown skin and medium-length straight black hair that just barely reaches his neck. There is a notable softness to his ovular face, which features a broad nose, small ears, small light brown eyes and full lips. He is clean-shaven.

He tends to dress simply, preferring comfort over trendiness, his wardrobe mostly consisting of various wrestling t-shirts and a variety of loose-fitting pants. He also owns several hoodies for when it gets cold, his favourite being a black one bearing the logo for All Elite Wrestling. On the day of the abduction, Koa was wearing a black and white “Head of the Table” wrestling t-shirt, along with blue track pants and white trainers.

Biography: Koa is the eldest son of a former professional wrestler by the name of Tony “The Mighty” Tagaloa. Despite having a lengthy career, his father Tony is relatively obscure outside of wrestling circles, his greatest claim to fame being a brief stint as a midcarder for TNA in the late 2000s. Tony was forced to retire from the business in 2017 after suffering a neck injury that almost left him paralysed, though he still makes regular appearances at wrestling conventions to this day.

It was also a wrestling injury that eventually led to his father’s marriage, when Tony found himself concussed during a Las Vegas show in 2005. It was during his brief hospital stay that he met a doctor by the name of Malia, the two quickly falling for one another and marrying two years later, bearing their first child on the 13th of May 2007. Two years after Koa was born, Malia would then give birth to a pair of twins: Luna and Noah.

Koa’s childhood was a happy one for the most part, his family comfortable and relatively free of drama. The most tense his upbringing got was in the years following his father’s career-ending injury, when Tony went through a depressive period when it became clear he would never wrestle again. Making matters worse was the 2020 pandemic, the toll of which greatly distressed Koa’s mother and put a strain on her relationship with Tony. Fortunately, they were able to patch things up in the years following the pandemic’s end, Tony eventually coming to peace with his legacy.

Koa gets along well with his family, his mother always doing her best to look out for her children and his father becoming something of an inspirational figure for Koa growing up. Some of his earliest memories are of his mother taking him to see his father’s shows, cementing his passion for wrestling at an early age. He continued to attend wrestling shows with his family long after his father retired, mostly local indie promotions with the occasional larger event whenever a big company was in town. Amongst his favourite wrestling companies is Lost Angels Wrestling, a small indie promotion based out of LA that is notable for being the only company where his father won a world championship. This along with his father’s numerous behind-the-scenes stories of his time with TNA and ROH solidified Koa’s dream of becoming a professional wrestler himself, a sentiment he also shares with his brother. Noah looks up to Koa, idolising him in a manner not dissimilar to how Koa idolizes their father, the two frequently discussing their favourite wrestling matches and ideas for future tag teams they could form together. The same couldn’t be said for his sister Luna, who never saw much appeal in her father’s old career. Instead the two bonded over their other shared interest: Anime.

Wrestling was far from the only thing Koa was passionate about growing up. Koa has always been something of a geek, drawn to straightforward escapist narratives about good vs evil. Whilst he’s read his fair share of superhero comics and played his fair share of video games, he has always been particularly fond of anime, especially shonen fighting anime such as Dragonball and One Piece. The latter in particular is a personal favourite of his, often praising One Piece for its lighthearted tone and creative setting, even going so far as cosplaying his favourite characters at local conventions. To a degree his fondness for classic shonen tropes fed into his passion for wrestling, given the similar thematic elements of larger than life heroes and villains with flashy finishing moves. Whilst his sister - an introvert by nature who spends most of her free time online - tends to prefer vocaloids and the Slice of Life genre, the two have bonded to a degree over their shared interest in the medium, Koa even going so far as joining his sister at several of the conventions he’s attended.

As he grew older he began to expand his interests even further, quickly picking up an appreciation for tabletop gaming after being introduced to Dungeons and Dragons by his school friends. He’s a roleplayer at heart, always relishing the opportunity to come up with new ideas for characters to play, with a fair portion of his hard drive consisting of unutilised character sheets he’s conjured up in his spare time. He’s also developed a fondness for board games, not to the same extent as TTRPGs, but Koa can rarely resist the opportunity to take part in a good social deduction game or two if the opportunity arises. As such he’s a regular at local gaming stores and board game cafes, often dropping by whenever there’s a new game out to try out with his friends. He is also taking part in an ongoing Dungeons and Dragons campaign with several of his classmates.

Professional wrestling to this day still remains his biggest passion by a long margin, one which he’s already began working towards in his spare time. As a teen he frequently partook in backyard wrestling matches with his friends and neighbours, occasionally getting into trouble for practising wrestling moves with his younger brother. He also began working out at an early age, lifting weights to try and build up his muscle mass, something he was fortunately able to do with relative ease. Unfortunately, he also gains weight just as easily. Whilst he’s made several attempts to reduce the amount of junk food he eats and the size of his portions, he always ends up falling back into bad habits, and to this day he struggles to maintain a healthy diet.

Nevertheless, upon arriving at Southwest Red Rock High he remains undeterred from his dreams, looking up to personal heroes like Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe as proof that you don’t need a Superman physique to be a great wrestler. His impressive physicality did however earn the attention of the Rattlers, who were quick to convince him that he would be perfect as linebacker. Whilst he performs his role adequately and gets along well with his teammates, he’s never been as passionate about the sport as some of his peers. He enjoys the camaraderie of being part of a team, but lacks the competitive edge required to perform at a higher level. One thing the sport has taught him is that his long-term endurance leaves much to be desired, often finding himself winded at the end of a particularly lengthy match. Nevertheless, he puts in the effort and the experience has taught him much about taking part in highly physical sporting activities. He’s also taken part in amateur wrestling, though he tends to struggle against more technically gifted opponents.

In addition to sports, Koa’s other best subject at Red Rock would be performing arts, which he took believing that it would improve his ability to perform in front of a crowd. In practice he’s discovered quite a knack for acting, going on to perform in a number of school productions. Like with wrestling and TTRPGs, performing arts plays into his passion for playing characters, often taking great joy in fine tuning his performance to suit whatever roles he’s assigned. He’s also taken a particular shine to improvisation, something that has greatly improved his role-playing in TTRPGs. Academically he performs adequately, his scores regularly hovering between Cs and Bs, with the exception of Science which he tends to struggle with. He also briefly attended dance class to try and improve his lackluster dancing, since it was a source of embarrassment for him during cultural events his family attended, but ended up dropping the class early in his freshman year when it proved too difficult for him.

Socially, he’s got his fair share of friends at Red Rock, mostly as a result of his easygoing personality. In addition to befriending fellow wrestling enthusiasts, he’s a regular fixture at several of Red Rock’s clubs - specifically the Anime, Board Games, Theatre and TTRPG clubs - where he’s made several friends related to his nerdier interests. He’s often regarded as friendly and good-natured, an optimist at heart who is loyal to his friends and always willing to lend a hand. And whilst he’s made no secret of his preference towards heels over faces in wrestling, one of his deepest fears is accidentally hurting an opponent in the ring, dreading the thought of botching a move and injuring someone badly.

Whilst Koa's primarily focusing on his studies he has already started training to become a professional wrestler, his father supporting his children wholeheartedly and teaching them a lot of the basics, even going so far as introducing them to several wrestling coaches from his past. Koa's mother however - whilst hesitant to discourage her children from a path they’re deeply passionate about - is nevertheless concerned about her sons’ wellbeing considering the toll such a lifestyle took on her husband’s health, often bringing the subject up with Tony when discussing Koa's future prospects.

With regards to his plans for the immediate future, Koa has yet to decide. Whilst he and his brother are hoping to attend a wrestling school in order focus wholly on their training, he also has a desire to explore the world a little after spending most of his life growing up in Nevada, with Japan and Samoa near the top of his list of places to visit someday. As such he’s currently thinking of taking a gap year to travel the world, before returning home to take the first few steps towards achieving his dream.

Advantages: Koa is very strong for his age, and can easily overpower a less skilled opponent. His knack for playing characters could be situationally useful, and it wouldn’t take much effort for him to look imposing if need be.
Disadvantages: Koa is a kind soul and an optimist at heart, and will likely refuse to play. He is deathly afraid of injuring someone by accident, which may discourage him from making the most of his strength. Perhaps most debilitating of all would be his poor long-term endurance, which will likely hamper his odds in the later stages of the game as he struggles with prolonged physical activity.
