Maggie Wilfred

Name: Maggie Wilfred
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Grade: 12th Grade
School: Southwest Red Rock High School
Hobbies and Interests: Animals, hiking, camping, climbing trees

Appearance: Maggie is a woman of average height, standing 5’5” and weighing 140lbs. Maggie is Caucasian with smooth, light skin. Maggie has a circular head with round, brown eyes; a small, rounded nose; neat mid-length brown hair; and average ears. Maggie also wears braces. Maggie has a toned, athletic frame with a slight pear-shape figure. She often wears feminine, comfortable and professional clothing, usually a gray, buttoned shirt with a long, dark gray pencil skirt, complete with white socks and black shoes. For more athletic events, however, Maggie will either wear shorts or jeans, depending on the weather. Maggie has a high-pitched, yet monotone voice that makes it difficult to convey emotions. Maggie usually wears red lipstick and mascara for big events and often sits up straight.

Biography: Maggie was born on August 26th to Nevada Assemblyman Albert and former businesswoman, now stay-at-home mother Nancy Wilfred. Albert is a Republican who turned from an investment banker to a locally successful state senator who, upon meeting Nancy during a fundraising event, decided the time had come to settle down. During his political career, Albert was considered a "Reagan Republican", preaching the values of trickle-down economics and a strong opposition against communism and far-left viewpoints. During this time, Albert and Nancy would give birth to three children: brothers Keith and Jarrett and oldest daughter Maggie. Early on in her life, it became clear that Maggie was the odd one out, being slow with eye contact and not interested in social gatherings outside of those with her family. A trip to the doctor confirmed that Maggie had autism spectrum disorder, or ASD. Despite being relieved that it wasn't a major disease, it did take Albert and Nancy some time to fully adjust, neither one having much experience with children prior to having kids.

During her childhood, particularly during the summer, Albert and Nancy would often take their kids hiking at the Red Rock Campground, exploring all the sights and sounds. During these trips, Maggie developed her love for climbing trees, finding that she could create her own little world at the very top. Maggie was often excited by these trips, as she came across multiple animals, particularly snakes. It helped that Maggie was the bravest of her family, a trait she picked up from her mother, Nancy. One time, Maggie managed to chase a squirrel that was bothering Keith up a tree, staying hot on their tail until the squirrel fled the premises. Maggie's love for hiking stemmed from her excitement over observing the outside world and all that came with it, from the animals to the landscapes. To her, it was new and exciting, especially when the family took a camping trip. Maggie quickly found herself to be a natural camper, putting up tents, locating great camping spots, building up a resistance to bug bites, and basic camping knowledge, especially in regard to surviving a night out in the woods.

In school, Maggie was a solid student, hovering around As and Bs, particularly in English and science. However, teachers noticed that Maggie would usually sit by herself during activities, often growing overwhelmed or stressed if the classroom got noisy. To counteract this, Maggie was be given headphones during class, so that the noise wouldn't grow too overwhelming.

Maggie would find herself most excited whenever the class went on a field trip, particularly when the field trip was to the Las Vegas Farm. This was where her love for animals really took off as, with permission from the farmhands, Maggie would help take care of certain animals, most notably cows and horses. One day, as Maggie was busy tending to a cow, one of the farmhands suggested that Maggie sign up for a 4-H program. Maggie agreed, joining up with a 4-H program in her area, helping take care of other animals in the area and building up leadership traits and resiliency. During this time, Maggie would take up gardening as a hobby, helping Nancy and Alfred with their backyard garden.

Throughout her elementary and middle school years, Maggie remained a happy, bright child with very little, if any, qualms about life or the way the world worked. Even so, Maggie had few friends during this time due to her relatively introverted nature, seeming more comfortable around her parents and animals rather than other children. This was a trend Maggie was determined to fix upon entering high school and decided to be more open and talkative with other high school students. This produced mixed results, as Maggie would join the Outdoor Rattlers club thanks to a chance meeting up a tree with a student named Beau. She formed a genuine friendship with him and he appreciated her big heart, particularly around animals. Others, however, found that she was at times boring, inauthentic and, in dire situations, annoying. Maggie chose to believe that she was uninteresting and needed something to latch onto. As such, she would begin hanging around the popular kids in an attempt to emulate their mannerisms. Her most notable attempt was trying out for the cheerleading team, equating the sport to popularity. Maggie wound up getting cold feet at the last moment and once one of the cheerleaders approached her, she sprinted out of the gym and went into hiding. This hyper fixation on being interesting often backfired in her face, often resorting to masking to keep conversations going, only to realize she had nothing to say. These attempts, combined with a lack of actual coping mechanisms, would occasionally lead to meltdowns, as Maggie grew overwhelmed with the pressure of being boring.

On her 17th birthday, Maggie decided that she needed to do something. As she blew out the candles on her birthday cake, she silently started her "personality quest", which consists of her scoping out other kids in school and doing her best to emulate them however possible. This new venture has only managed to accomplish one of three things. Amuse, annoy, or confuse people. Most of her attempts to be like others usually end with her dropping the act the moment it's clear that no one is interested or she's doing a poor job with it. Still, Maggie remains undeterred and is confident that she can find the personality that best suits her.

Back home, Maggie maintains strong relationships with Albert and Nancy. During days off from school, Maggie will help out in her family's garden, planting flowers and vegetables, usually alongside Nancy. Maggie used to be far more interested in politics, thanks in large part to Albert's own political career, which culminated with a very short-lived presidential campaign in 2012. Since the rise of President Canon, however, Maggie, Alfred and Nancy have chosen not to discuss politics unless it's by necessity with Alfred in particular being distressed with the extreme nature the GOP has taken. Albert and Nancy have also broken away from the normal GOP viewpoint of climate change, coming in support for acts and bills that support green energy, conservation and protecting nature. The same cannot be said for young brothers Keith and Jarrett, who have become vocal Canon supporters and seem to have fallen hard in the far-right rabbit hole. Maggie usually avoids her brothers as a result.

As Maggie enters her senior year, she is currently debating which college to apply for, finding intrigue with Harvard and Yale. She also plans to switch to the Democratic Party, finding that the GOP, in its current form, is no longer suitable to her political views. This move has been supported by Albert and Nancy. After college, Maggie looks to return to the Las Vegas Farm to become a farm hand herself with the hopes of eventually becoming a nature ranger at a national park in Las Vegas.

Advantages: Maggie’s knowledge regarding basic camping and plants can help her locate areas with each. Maggie's hiking over the years has helped her develop great stamina. Maggie’s kindness and general empathy makes it easier for her to understand and sympathize with others. Maggie's bravery in the face of danger means she's less likely to go down in a fight.
Disadvantages: Maggie's fixation on having an 'interesting' personality often alienates people who would otherwise make for good allies. Maggie's poor coping skills may also lead to unwarranted outbursts.

Hey there Jacob. Maggie needs a few changes and expansions but this is a journey we will go on together, in the spirit of America [eagle screech]
Animals, gardening, the great outdoors, politics.
- No period needed at the end of this.
- Also I don't know what "great outdoors" means as far as a hobby. Does she just stare at the mountains from her window?
Maggie has a half-circle head with round brown eyes
- I don't know what "half-circle head" means. I'm imagining like, the moon when its half full but that doesn't make sense for a head.
Maggie has a half-circle head with round brown eyes, a small rounded nose, neat mid-length brown hair and average ears.
- This can benefit with some commas after adjectives. When you have several adjectives in a row you use commas to separate them. When you have a list with items that have commas within them, you use a semicolon.

Ergo: round, brown eyes; a small, rounded nose; neat, mid-length brown hair; and average ears.
Maggie has a toned, athletic frame with a slight pear shape figure.
- Compound adjective here so "pear-shaped figure."
, usually a gray buttoned shirt with a long dark gray pencil skirt, complete with white socks and black shoes.
-Same here for needing commas. "gray, buttoned shirt with a long, dark gray pencil skirt."
Maggie was born on August 26th to politician Albert and former politician, now stay-at-home mother Nancy Wilfred. Albert is a Republican who turned from an investment banker to a locally successful state senator who, upon meeting Nancy during a fundraising event, decided the time had come to settle down. During the 90s and early 2000s, Albert and Nancy were considered rising stars within the GOP, Nancy in particular showing a clear fire during campaign rallies and speeches. During this time, Albert and Nancy would give birth to three children, brothers Keith and Jarrett and oldest daughter Maggie. Growing up, Maggie would often be curious with the world and everything around her, always venturing away from her parents. This often caused trouble for Albert and Nancy, who would have to chase her around before she got lost.
- Okay, so a few things here.

1. I spoke with the rest of staff and it looks like we haven't had a parent be a senator or higher since V2, with one nebulous politician not specified in V5. Having her father be a state senator is a bit high up, even at the state level. Only three kids' parents could have this job and it edges into being able to affect the canon of the world. I do recognize you want him to be a politician so staff was fine with him being a Nevada Assemblymember or lower.

2. Nancy seems to have zero political experience to speak of. I also think that both parents having presidential runs is too much generally for an SOTF kid. We try to sort of stay towards the norm with kids, though we will allow for a bit of leeway, I think that both parents as presidential hopefuls is a bit much though and would give Maggie an outsized place of importance within the cast as it relates to the world at large. If we want to meet in the middle, maybe just her dad had a short-lived presidential campaign.
When she was five, Maggie would be out with her family, having a picnic when she wandered into the playground and played in the sandbox. While doing so, she fell onto the sand and began making a sand angel, all while a ladybug fluttered onto her nose. Initially confused, Maggie stared at her nosy intruder before giggling incessantly. This began a long-term relationship with nature, particularly bugs, as whenever Maggie sees an insect, she’s reminded of that initial meeting.
- Going back to this section, this isn't information we need for the profile. You COULD just say that from a young age she enjoyed looking at insects when out in nature and now has a lifelong interest in insects or something to that effect, but insects aren't listed as an interest or hobby though, so this doesn't need to be here at all. This kind of story would be more suited to a memory thread.
At that same age, Maggie was first made aware of politics and her family’s legacy in Nevada politics, particularly Albert’s short-lived run for president. Amazed that his father tried out for the job, Maggie began ‘running’ for president too. She then had to be told by Albert that she needed to wait a few decades before she could run too. In 2012, Nancy would make her own run for the presidency and fared somewhat better, reaching the Nevada primaries, only to come up short. Seeing that her parents had failed, Maggie put her presidential ambitions aside.
- I talked about this section already, but yes, refer to that note for this.
Maggie would find herself most excited whenever the class went on a field trip, spending the entire day outside with her peers, especially when it came to being on the farm, where she would often help take care of animals, especially the cows and horses.
- I don't have any concept of how old she is in this. Also what is "the farm." A particular farm? Classes also typically would only go on this type of field trip like, once a year. I'm fine with her first exposure to farm animals being a field trip to a farm but not as the only thing that keeps it going. Maybe this inspired her to get into 4-H or something?
As the years went on, Maggie grew a great affinity for animals, and began fixating on different mammals over the years, taking great pride in caring for them and watching them grow, often coming to their defense when threatened.
- Again, this is where something like 4-H or I guess maybe volunteering at an animal shelter would make sense. What animals is she taking care of? Who is she defending them from? Why is someone threatening animals? In what context is this happening?
At the age of 10, near tragedy would strike the Wilfred household when, during a speech, Nancy would be shot at by a far-right extremist. Thankfully, Nancy would survive, only suffering a wound on her left arm, but the event traumatized Nancy and resulted in her leaving the political theatre.
- This storyline is too dramatic and unusual for SOTF. I'm going to ask for the removal of the attempted political assassination.
This broke Maggie’s heart as she knew how much Nancy loved the political lifestyle.
- I don't know what a "political lifestyle" is.
Undeterred, Maggie kept at it, even resorting to masking in order to feel like she belonged.
- This combined with the earlier headphones detail and being overwhelmed leads me to believe she is neurodivergent in some manner. If she is, that's going to have to be mentioned in the profile and expanded on.
The moment Maggie realized something needed to change was her 17th birthday. Albert and Nancy spared no expense in making sure her birthday was amazing, sending out some of the fanciest invitations out there and decking their backyard and house to the nines.
- Small thing but in this day and age and with teens I imagine invites would be digital.
Yet, as Maggie celebrated her party, she noticed that no one was talking about her but rather, her parents or the party itself, or with each other.
- It would be weird to talk about someone where they can hear you, right? Unless you are talking to them. I get where you are going -- people don't seem interested in her despite attending a party for her, but I think you need to describe it differently.
Some are willing to do so, though a few clearly do so for their own benefit.
- What benefit does anyone get out of talking to her? No one is humoring her just to be nice?
She still plans to enter the world of politics, but has grown increasingly concerned with the polarized nature of the field, especially as Albert has expressed dismay and concern regarding the GOP’s growing extremism.
- So what are her parents' politics anyway? Seems to be a big part of their lives, so it would be important to know. Does she agree with the same politics as they do?
- I know she wants to be president but you can't go to college for that. What does she actually want to do?
Maggie is a physically fit woman who showcases deceptive agility.
- She is? I didn't see anything in the profile about any sort of sports or exercise.
Maggie’s natural affinity to the outdoors makes it easy for her to scope out traps and danger.

- I don't think taking hikes or whatever it is she's doing outside would make it easier to detect those things. But also now that we're here, I need a lot more information on her outdoors hobby.
Maggie’s perceived ‘blandness’ and lack of ‘actual personality’ makes her susceptible to bad influences, and if not checked, can cause her to fall down questionable paths.
- I'm not seeing how being bland leads to being easily influenced.
Maggie’s tendency to work alone and hesitancy to be violent also makes it difficult for her to be consistently effective.
- Most people are hesitant to be violent.

- Now that I've come to the end of the profile, I don't see how she engages with her hobby of "politics" in this profile. A hobby or interest is something the character spends time on regularly. It doesn't seem she's in student government or reading political books or something.
- I think in general I'd like more information on her personality, who her friends are at school if she has any, how she feels about her parents' politics given that their party is pretty against climate change mitigation, how she feels in this current climate with President Canon (our Trump stand-in).

That's about it. Let me know when edits are made and I'll take a look.

I went from wanting to drop this character to being like: "Oh, this isn't bad actually!"

This feels like some sort of fucked up character arc for me and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think some of it was that I genuinely got in a bad headspace with Maggie cause the first profile really was shit, plus also with the way the political climate is in America, I was wondering if this was really a good idea for me to pursue, especially since this is my first time in a main version. I guess I'll see how I feel about it tomorrow, I'm gonna go to bed.

Ack, sorry for the wait. This is looking much better, but we still have a few things to smooth out.

Alrighty, first thing is just a repeat from past!Rugga

Thanks, me from the past. If you can still hear me, don't watch the Oscars on Hulu.
Maggie was often excited by these trips, as she come across multiple animals, particularly snakes.
-Small grammar one here. "Maggie was often excited by these trips, as she CAME across multiple animals, particularly snakes."
One time, Maggie managed to chase a squirrel that was bothering Keith up a tree, staying hot on their tail until

- I think you missed a bit here since the sentence ends in the middle.
In school, Maggie was a solid student, hovering around the A/B honor roll, particularly in English and science.

- I think this is two different things. She gets As and Bs in her classes and either is on the honor roll or not. Typically honor roll is typically students with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
This produced mixed results, as Maggie would join the Outdoor Rattlers club thanks to a chance meeting up a tree with a student named Beau, and formed genuine friendships with several members in the club, finding that she had a big heart.
- Just a slight clarification here since the wording is a bit ambiguous. Is Maggie finding she had a big heart or the other students?
Others, however, found that she was at times boring, inauthentic and, in dire situations, annoying. Maggie chose to believe the latter option, that people felt that she was uninteresting and needed something to latch onto.
- What is she choosing to believe here? The previous sentence says what some people think of her, which maybe she knows and maybe she doesn't. Just maybe rework this sentence to be a bit clearer.
This hyper fixation on trying to be "interesting" often backfired in her face, often resorting to masking to keep conversations going, only to realize she had nothing to say.
- What exactly is she doing or saying in her quest to seem interesting?
These attempts, combined with a lack of actual coping mechanisms, would occasionally lead to meltdowns, as Maggie grew overwhelmed with the pressure of being anything but a 'wooden plank'.
- I'm also not sure what "wooden plank" means here. You mean that she feels the pressure of not being bland and boring but she perceives herself as such?

Not a bad thing, but I think it is very relatable and teenage to feel like you are a boring person and wanting people to like you more. I also like that she looks at other kids she finds interesting and tries to emulate them in the hopes of copying what makes them interesting, only for it to not work very well. I'd like to hear maybe a little about what she's tried. I really like this as a development. ⭐
Maggie used to be far more interested in politics, thanks in large part to Albert's own political career, capsized with a very short-lived presidential campaign in 2012.
- Capsized would mean that the short-lived presidential campaign derailed or ended his political career. But that wasn't the impression I got?

You know what? I also like that the family is split with the younger brothers being more right leaning. That's good tension for the family and makes the dynamics and her situation a little more spicy 🤌 ⭐
After college, Maggie looks to return to the Las Vegas Farm to become a farm hand herself with the hopes of eventually becoming a nature ranger at a national park in Las Vegas.
- No note again, I just think this is cute.

- Can I get a little more about her hiking hobby? I know it says she has joined the Outdoor Rattlers but maybe a bit more on hiking and why she enjoys it.
- A little more about climbing trees too if it's still something she does.
- You may also want to consider adding camping to hobbies and putting a little about that in the profile, but you don't have to. Up to you, but it seems to be how she first came to be enamored with the outdoors and could also provide some advantages.
Maggie’s natural affinity to the outdoors makes it easier to find animals and recognize areas.
- I don't think those things are advantages for this situation. But maybe knowledge of plants from her gardening (which could also be a hobby since its mentioned she works on her home garden) and general basic survival knowledge from camping (if you add it). Also, now that you have hiking, probably she has some stamina from that.

And that's that! Much less to go through this time. As always, let me know when there are edits and I'll take a look.

I think I got all the major edits out of the way, expect there will be some grammar edits I need to make but for the most part, it should be solid.
