Alrighty, it is time for round one!

Image

First off, I'd like to reiterate again that if I missed anything sneaky (almost certainly bass or keyboard wearing a Groucho disguise) that's on me and my vetting-stuff-in-the-middle-of-the-night-on-crappy-low-speakers fatigue. Please don't blame any of the songs for my hypothetical failings in that respect (but feel free to ping me and ring the shame bell).

I've tried to tag suicide-related content that might trigger folks but I may have missed stuff; oddly acoustic music gets real grim and gritty sometimes. It's not a knock against your song in any way if you got tagged. If I missed something and you catch it, lemme know and I'll add a note.

This round we have twelve contestants:

BlizzardeyeWonder
Brackie
Fenris
Irene
Me
MethodicalSlacker
Paige
Pancapples
Ricky
Rugga
TheLordOfAwesome
Yugikun

The songs are:

1. Drunken Lullabies (Acoustic) – Flogging Molly
2. Zombie By The Cranberries – Andrew Jackson Jihad
3. Barton Hollow – The Civil Wars
4. Chrono Cross Time's Scar – Video Game Orchestra IGC
5. Jesse James – Bruce Springsteen
6. The Longing – Patty Gurdy
7. Thugz Mansion (Original Acoustic) – Tupac (this song deals with suicide, please be warned)
8. Racehorse: Get Married! – Jordaan Mason & The Horse Museum
9. Pumped Up Kicks (KBCO Session) – Foster The People
10. Barrett's Privateers – Stan Rogers
11. Haunted – Maya Kern
12. Crazy (Radio 1 Live Lounge Session) – Nelly Furtado

As usual, if you're in the round you must vote or you get DQed. You can vote however you feel like, but if I don't reply that I've confirmed your vote then I don't have it yet.

Due to the holidays, we have an extra day (for a total of four), so this round will run until 10:00 Pacific on December 28. I realize that means the next round is slated to end on (sigh) New Year's Eve, so will probably ultimately extend that one also.

Votes go:

12.
10.
8.
7.
6.
5.
4.
3.
2.
1.

And you can't vote for yourself. Public votes count for half.

The top nine songs will advance from this round.

And, charts. I use an Excel spreadsheet that does the math for me (future hosts, hit me up if you want a blank template copy). Thus you get screenshots. 0 = the song was submitted by this person. Blank = no votes. A * behind a name indicates public votes (my setupt halves these automatically so I just roll 'em into the same sheet).
