Area: The Old Road

Description: Cutting a path through the trees at the base of the mountain, the old road was the only usable link for vehicles wishing to travel between the mining town and the research station. This meant it was kept in relatively good condition almost year-round, although it was prone to blockages from mountain debris. In the years since the island was abandoned, no one has been present to clear these blockages, and the tarmac has started to crack and break apart from years of freezing and thawing. Despite this, it is still the most easily traversable path on the island, even with the edges of the forest starting to encroach upon it.

The body of Iliya Polaris lies some distance off the road in the treeline, directly next to a large tree. She has been stabbed in the throat, and the contents of her bag (so far) remain untouched, save for her assigned weapon.

The body of Illiya Polaris and Piper Puncheon have both been left buried above ground beneath a layer of snow, leaves and gravel a little off the road. Both their bags have been emptied of their rations, medical supplies, windbreakers and flashlights. Neither of them have been left with their assigned weapons.

As of Witch Barrier, there is a large amount of blood spatter on the ground close to where the road meets the town border.

As of Aiskhylos, Agamemnon, line 805, the remains of a campsite can be found in the woods just off the road. There is also a mound nearby marking the place where Meena Kumar is buried, and trees near the campsite have been damaged by an explosion. The date machete originally belonging to Dave Dearborn has been discarded in the woods several yards from the campsite.

As of Schmuck Bait, Dave Dearborn's date machete has been taken, and a pit trap similar to those left throughout the Tundra Forest has been set up near the old campsite. This trap also features bait in the form of a bag filled with rocks and foliage, placed next to it in order to tempt people into investigating further.
