After four years, four months, and a 97-contest losing streak, I, Laurels, have finally, organically, won a Songtest. As a result, I will be hosting this next contest, and more importantly, I can finally use the Songtest Theme I had been holding onto for a few years that I dreaded would be used before I officially won a Songtest. And more importantly, I can use it right before Songtest #100 ha ha ha.
With that in mind, I'm excited to announce the theme of Songtest #99:
SONGTEST ALL-STARS!!!
That's right! We're going to buck tradition for this contest. For this contest, all songs submitted must have been submitted in one of the past 98 songtests. This is so songs you all loved but felt deserved a chance to win can have a second chance at Songtest Glory. There are some specific rules, but here are the common rules:
Now, for rules specific to this contest. It would be too easy to say "send in any of the 2,000+ songs from the past 98 contests," so to challenge you all, there are a few rules to help you pick.
1. You cannot submit a song that has previously won a contest. They have had their time to shine, this is for second chances.
2. You cannot submit a song you previously submitted. You have to submit a song that someone else previously submitted.
3. You can submit songs that were disqualified, semifinalists, and finalists as long as you do not submit something that violates Rules 1 or 2.
4. In order to have some diversity in this contest, only one song per past contest can be submitted for this contest. This means only one song from the Girls Night songtest, for example, can be submitted. It's going to be first come first serve, so this is why you should submit quickly. I will inform you if something has been submitted from that contest and will keep a log of unavailable contests on this OP (since listing 97 themes is a lot, it's easier to post what's unavailable).
5. While only one song from each of the 98 contests can be submitted, this does not apply to themes that have been used more than once. For example, if someone submits from Around the World #1, you can submit from Around the World #2.
6. For songs available, please consult the songtest spreadsheet and past contest threads.
As always, submit via board PM or Discord PM. I will give everyone until midnight EST on Saturday, February 12 to submit so we can start on Sunday. PM me if you have any questions.
