Gender: Female
Age: 18
Grade: Senior
School: Southwest Red Rock High School
Hobbies and Interests: Basketball, dancing, social media, makeup
Appearance: Carolina stands at 6’1” and weighs roughly 141 lbs with a lean but strong physique. She is Caucasian with sun-kissed and freckled skin along with light golden blonde hair that she frequently changes the style of, currently it is in a French braid with a low ponytail. Her sky-blue eyes are large and round, she also has a demure button nose and full lips that are regularly in a friendly smile. Carolina enjoys wearing makeup and frequently has various colours that she cycles between for her eyeliner and eyeshadow, along with occasionally applying light dustings of glitter. Her nails are also carefully maintained through biweekly salon sessions and painted in various patterns, including designs such as playing cards, marble or galaxies.
Carolina often wears fashionable tops and dresses or shorts, although she is also partial to basketball shirts and is frequently seen in exercise gear as she practices on the school courts. She can also regularly be found wearing a new pair of Nikes, a brand of shoe that she seems to have on rotation. Currently, the main pair she wears are Air Jordan 1 Mid’s in guava and pink salt.
Biography: Carolina Hood was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Donald “Don” Hood and Elizabeth “Betty” Hood as the older (by seventeen minutes and thirty-nine seconds) of two twins. She and her sister Charlotte were named after the state and city respectively. Their parents originally met during their first day at the University of South Carolina and subsequently married during their senior year. Following their honeymoon they moved to Charlotte and started a commercial real estate business that eventually expanded back into South Carolina.
Unlike her sister, Carolina was born without any complications and had a very normal upbringing for the first few years of her life. Most of her parents' focus in the sister’s early years was put towards Charlotte and the question of how to manage her amniotic band syndrome. When her mother and sister seemingly vanished one night Carolina was beside herself until her father sat her down and explained the situation about Charlotte’s amputation. Don also explained how Carolina would need to start looking after her younger sister going forward. This was a formative evening for a young Carolina and still informs her relationship with her younger sister to the present day.
Following Charlotte’s amputation Don and Betty made the decision to move back to Las Vegas. They did this as Don was a Las Vegas native and his parents still lived in the city and could assist with caring for the twins while Don and Betty worked. It also meant they had a stronger support system for Charlotte as she adapted to life with only one hand. The Hoods still make frequent trips to North Carolina, both to spend Christmas and watch University of South Carolina athletic events throughout the year. Athletics themselves are very important to both Don and Betty with them having been on varsity teams in high school and taking part in intramural athletics at college. Both parents place a high value on both taking part in competition and the act of winning itself. This competitive drive extends to many activities in the Hood household, if cards, the chess set or any board game is brought out then the rest of the day will be spent relishing in the thrill of victory or agony of defeat. The Hood parents have had a roadmap laid out for their children since they were born and the ultimate aim is for them to both be Division I athletes at college, preferably in basketball and move on to professional athletics. A young Carolina was excited by the prospect of becoming famous for playing a sport she enjoyed and was eager to impress her parents from a young age with her commitment to reaching the basketball goals they had set for her. However, as she became older, Carolina would sometimes wish that she could have had more time as a young child to do stereotypical childhood activities and experiences that weren't related to the path her parents had laid out for her.
Basketball itself is one of the foundations of the Hood household, with it being Betty’s favourite sport and one she took part in throughout her life. She set up a tiny hoop and matching balls in the twins' cribs following their birth and got them training and practicing as soon as possible. Carolina quickly excelled on the court, showing a natural aptitude for the sport, with good coordination and footwork. By the age of eight Carolina and Charlotte were taking part in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball and Carolina was notable for her ability early on, with some considering her a prodigy.
Despite this, Carolina has always been happier when playing with her sister, the two having been inseparable since birth. This extended all the way to Charlotte’s occupational therapy as Carolina insisted on joining her sister for sessions and taking part in exercises alongside her. The two are extremely close and neither they nor their family can remember any argument occurring between the twins. This has carried over onto the basketball court as the two sisters have a seamless understanding of where the other will be. Aside from this Carolina is noted for her ball handling and passing ability, as well as her on-court vision.
At elementary school Carolina was a passable student who was at her best whenever physical activity was called for. It was during the elementary school chorus and music classes that Carolina first discovered her love of dance and to a lesser extent singing—although this has dropped off as she has grown older. Before the twins ended up focusing entirely on AAU basketball, they were classically trained in dance (specifically ballet, jazz, and hip-hop styles) as well as church choir. Carolina is not as good of a dancer as her sister although she enjoys the ability to express herself dance provides, and does somewhat wish that her life wasn’t so structured around athletic success so she could explore dance more.
The Hoods are Methodists and attend the same church Don attended as a youth growing up in Las Vegas. Despite this, Don and Betty do not consider themselves strict practitioners but do identify and see value in continuing to be culturally Christian, especially within their community. Carolina has many memories of spending time at the church for both Sunday school and the church's after-school program. As a result of her upbringing Carolina is a strong believer in God and believes that her natural athletic abilities are a gift from him. She performs a pre and postgame prayer at every game even as she has grown older and her church attendance has grown sporadic due to her various basketball commitments. The twins have been baptized, but have not begun the process of getting confirmed. Carolina originally wanted to do this before leaving for college so it could be an event she shared with the Silver Springs Methodist community, but Charlotte did not feel ready so she has held off as she wants to do it alongside her sister.
During middle school Carolina started attracting the attention of boys in her classes as she had the first of two growth spurts. As she was in less classes with Charlotte during this time she rapidly became socially adept, enjoying the attention she started to receive as a result of both her looks and athletic skills while also learning how to socialise without her sister being present. She had a few short-lived, immature relationships with a couple of boys during this period but nothing long-term and Carolina looks back on it as a period of growth and trying to find herself.
Before Carolina could continue with finding herself the COVID-19 pandemic hit and Carolina and Charlotte would end up remote learning from home for the eighth grade. In a bid to stave off boredom and also as an excuse to dance and socialise, Carolina suggested that the twins start posting short videos on TikTok and Instagram. Betty began to assist them with producing these videos and soon the twins had built up a sizeable following. The videos themselves take advantage of the twins' basketball and dance skills and are both silly and skillful. As the twins have moved into high school their following has grown to over 50,000 combined followers across TikTok and Instagram. Their parents have also started to more actively manage the social media and ensure that the various feeds the sisters maintain are curated to make them as appealing to potential schools and sponsors as possible. Don and Betty are very invested in their daughters athletic futures and have made various investments into the Hood family as a brand, including things such as home-video-style vlogs and behind the scenes videos of the twins lives as they hopefully journey through high school to NCAA college basketball championships and finally the WNBA. Don has carefully modelled this pathway on contemporary athletic sibling families like the Cavinder twins and the Ball family. As the Hood twins brand has expanded and evolved Carolina has enjoyed the attention she garners as well as the ability to show off her and Charlotte's personalities outside of basketball games, while also getting to indulge in an excuse to perform various dances.
Southwest Red Rock High School was the obvious high school choice for the Hood twins as far as their parents were concerned. They already had roots and connections in the area and were regular donors to the school’s athletic programs prior to the twins enrolment. The other deciding factor was that Red Rock’s sports teams were in a prestigious athletic conference, meaning that it would be a good way to showcase the twins on-court talents against strong opposition. Both Carolina and Charlotte have been on the Red Rock varsity basketball team since they were freshman, with Carolina herself being a consistent starting lineup contributor since she was a freshman and being a guaranteed starter for nearly as long.
Despite the amount of pressure placed upon her and the level of success her parents expect Carolina has always loved basketball and this love shines through on the court as she can frequently be seen smiling as she plays. Carolina wakes up at 4 a.m. every morning and spends an hour running drills with her sister. Then from five until six they shower, do their hair and makeup and prepare for the school day. Carolina loves doing her makeup and assisting Charlotte with hers and it is one of her other main interests. The reason for this is the same as her love of dance with it being one of the main ways she is able to express herself in what has become a carefully curated and managed life. Carolina likes to experiment and express herself with various different nail styles and patterns, and sometimes extends this to more dynamic and eye-catching makeup for special occasions or big games. Following makeup there is the Hood family daily meeting where they discuss their long-term plans and short-term schedules for the day. This meeting occurs every day without fail, even if one of the twins is sick they are expected to attend before returning to bed to rest.
This strict schedule and focus on basketball training and other commitments has led to Carolina and Charlotte to become somewhat socially isolated from the rest of their class. Outside of their time at school or at basketball team or general athletic team events the pair don’t have much time to interact with their classmates. This bothers Carolina as she enjoys being social and taking part in social events, as a result she is quick to jump on any opportunity to take part in a social activity with others in her year. This also means that she can be naive in her friendships and relationships, easily being won over by someone who shows interest in her as a person if it appears even somewhat genuine or gives her compliments on anything from her looks or fashion sense.
Carolina has an easy confidence that is a result of both her athletic ability and being told how talented she is from a young age. She also possesses a silly sense of humour that developed as she tried to keep herself and her sister entertained through various long days. Of the two sisters Carolina is viewed as the friendly and happy one, as opposed to Charlotte who is quieter and more intense. At school and at home the twins still spend most of their time together speaking in their specific language of references, in-jokes or phrases that only they understand the meaning of. In terms of college, Carolina has been offered scholarships at several Division I schools. But in one of the few cases of Carolina making an important decision for herself, she has demanded that any school that offers her a scholarship must also offer one to Charlotte, something that has caused a few schools to rescind offers, but Carolina is comfortable with this outcome as she refuses to go anywhere without her sister. Her dream is to go to the University of South Carolina and play under Dawn Staley with her sister and then go on to the WNBA.
Advantages: Carolina is a natural athlete with good hand-eye coordination, strength, speed and stamina, which would give her an advantage over other students who don’t have the level of athletic training she has had for much of her life. She also has a guaranteed ally in her twin sister Charlotte who she is extremely close to.
Disadvantages: Carolina can be easily manipulated either by flattery or people being friendly with her. Due to her carefully controlled and structured life Carolina could struggle with adapting to the constantly shifting landscape of the game and figuring out plans or how to proceed in stressful situations. If anything was to happen to Charlotte, Carolina would be adrift without her, as the twins have spent their whole lives with each other.

Heya Deamon. I don't think you need the spiel. Let's get into it.
...and that's it. No major problems or big revisions, just some small fixes and one addition. Lemme know when you've got that done.
In, not is.frequently seen is exercise gear
Pair she wears.Currently the main pair are wears are Air Jordan
Missing an apostrophe at the end of "parents".her parents focus in the sister’s early years
How did Carolina feel about her parents planning out her and her sister's lives for them? Obviously they both took to basketball well, but did they know about this and/or did they ever think it was presumptive or otherwise bad? I know I'd personally hate these kinds of expectations being placed upon me.The Hood parents have had a roadmap laid out for their children since they were born and the ultimate aim is for them to both be Division I athletes at college, preferably in basketball and move on to professional athletics.
Would be set up, as setup is a noun. She setup a tiny hoop and matching balls
Another apostrophe at the end of twins.the twins cribs following their
Would be church's.and the churches after school program
An event.could be a event she shared
Eighth.for the eight grade
Another apostrophe at the end of twins needed here.of the twins basketball and dance
Charlotte's.and Charlottes personalities
Would be donors, not donators.regular donators to the school’s athletic programs
Add a comma before the "and sometimes" here. Had to make you add at least one.nail styles and patterns and sometimes extends this
Need a comma after Charlotte.happen to Charlotte Carolina would
...and that's it. No major problems or big revisions, just some small fixes and one addition. Lemme know when you've got that done.
Edited!
