Helena takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Abby’s right. She’s just gotta listen and not be stupid. She can do that. Probably. Helena looks back at her phone as a second chirp comes through, lifting it up to see the text for Rozlyn then setting it back down.

“Thanks Abby. You’re a good friend. Better than I’ve been…” Helena shook her head. She didn’t really mean to add that last part. It just sorta slipped out. But it’s true. She wasn’t as good a friend as Abby. She really didn’t deserve her. Or any of this really. She just…shouldn’t be thinking like this. Helena takes another deep breath. Can’t spiral now. Save it for later. Bottling things up is always a good idea.

Abby pursed her lips at that, furrowing her eyebrows. Hm. Curious.

Not to press it though.

She patted Helena’s back as she picked up her makeup bag “I’ll get out of your hair. Just take a deep breath. Enjoy the moment, and tell me how the date goes.”

She smiled at Helena as she gave a wave “I’ll see you later, Helena. Have fun.”

She turned on her heels, walking towards the door. She paused again, looking back and waving at Helena before departing.

Helena nodded, waving goodbye to Abby. “See ya. Thanks for coming and…all this.” Helena then looked back down at the necklace. Just breath. You’ll be fine. You have to be. Abby put too much work into this to fuck it up now.

With that Helena put the necklace around her neck then picked up her phone, first texting her dad.

Hey dad! Gonna be going out soon. Are you gonna be home tonight?
Works pretty swamped tonight. Sundays and all that. Might not get home till early morning. I can try and come home early if you want though
No it’s fine dad. They’ll be here soon anyway
Alright sweet pea. Have fun with your friend. Don’t stay out too late and call me if you need anything. I love you.
Love you too dad.

Helena sighed and looked back up around her room. First time she’s kinda happy dad’s not gonna be back anytime soon tonight. She had planned to tell him before tonight but…well she’s a coward. She just hopes he actually will be late and won’t have to find out the hard way. Regardless she took one last breathe before backing out and opening up a different text message. This one to Rozlyn.

I’ll be waiting outside!

Helena then clicked the phone off and put it into her pocket, getting up and walking out of her room. Time for the main event.
