The purpose of this thread isn't to bully your kids based off of their looks or to perpetuate any assumptions- it's to sort of nail down their vibe and what other people, if they don't know them much, would assume at first glance, and how their appearance would affect other's treatment of them, on or off island, as someone who doesn't know the kid very well. Two kids with similar personalities would be treated differently due to appearances- a 5'2 petite sweet looking girl with a knife would spook people more than, say, a 6'1 boy with prominent facial scarring, or bulging muscles, because teenagers assume things about other people and the things they assume sometimes Aren't Good especially if they are on Murder Island. But also off Murder Island. Because teens.

Appearance: Mary has black hair that reaches to her mid-back. It usually falls into wavy curls, making it look messy at times. While Mary has tried to straighten it before, usually she lets it be, keeping good care of it otherwise. More recently Mary has started dyeing her hair into a black-to-pink ombre since the previous fall. Her typical hairstyle is a set of pigtails, with a bit of hair left loose around her face.

Mary is of predominantly Chinese-American ancestry. Like her hair, she keeps good care of her skin, such as using natural formula each night and religiously protecting it from the sun, leaving only a light suntan from the Miami heat. Mary has an oval-shaped face, with a pointed chin and slight cheekbones. She has a wide mouth that shows off her dimples when she smiles. Her nose is small and straight, with a high nose bridge. Mary has a naturally expressive face, with large, vibrant light brown eyes. She tends to have dark circles from lack of sleep, which she covers with makeup. Mary wears light foundation, dark lipstick, mascara, smokey pink eyeshadow, and dark eyeliner as part of her typical everyday look. However, she uses a more natural, subdued look for church events.

She is on the tall side, at 6'0 feet and 137 pounds. Mary, while at a healthy body weight, has a slim physique, with long limbs and a toned stomach. She has a habit of fidgeting with her arms and legs, such as drumming her nails against a desk while thinking. While her posture and gait are relatively poised, she has a tendency to slouch while sitting. Mary loves styling her nails and often has them manicured at home. As of right now, she's made them black, cut short and filed into a square shape.

While Mary is fashion-conscious, she usually doesn’t plan outfits ahead of time and prefers dressing comfortably. So, her dress sense is casual, with distinct elements of contemporary alternative aesthetics. Tights and leggings are common in her wardrobe, usually layered under skirts or shorts. She also has a love for denim, graphic t-shirts, and flannel. Mary primarily wears dark colors, with pink or purple as a secondary contrasting color when she wants to add color. She has a history of skirting the dress code, so she often has jackets or other outerwear to cover up. Mary likes unusual accessories, such as handbags made to look like plush toys, chokers, and large sunglasses. Appearance: Cedar is 5’0”, with Filipino heritage that gives her skin a dark fair complexion with yellow undertones. She is underweight, averaging anywhere from 80 to 85 lb. Due to this she has a lanky, rectangular body type and barely defined curves, hips visibly defined by bone and not fat distribution. She has a short torso and long legs proportionally. Her skin is sometimes marred by patches that will be some combination of ashy and inflamed red, due to recurrent eczema.

She has a round face, with a low hairline and thus a shortened forehead. Her nose is small, sharply angular but with a barely defined bridge. Her lips are dusky relative to her skin tone, and she has chubby cheeks without much definition to her cheekbones. Her eyes are a warm brown. Her curly hair is naturally jet black, unruly and prone to explosive volume and excessive frizz in most climates. She elects to wear it short for practical reasons, cropping it close to her neck and the sides of her face. She occasionally uses hair accessories left over from her cosplay casually. Her facial countenance is generally considered attractive, though somewhat immature for her age, especially considering her silhouette.

She knows an extensive amount of makeup tricks due to her cosplay experience, but she usually does not bother outside of cosplay as her natural skin is healthy and resistant to breakouts, and she generally appears lively when not actually tired. Her voice roughly matches her appearance, somewhat shrill and high on the octave. She has clear and strong enunciation, as if Cedar consciously trained her English before. Her singing voice is okay considering her lack of training, and she would be considered a soprano. Cedar speaks fluent Bisaya, in addition to English. She also speaks Filipino conversationally.

Cedar dresses with only some care and does not invest a lot of time into matching. Her aesthetic borrows from streetwear while generally being feminine; common tropes include athletic fabric, denim, tatters, and some bagginess and loose fits. She expresses her geeky hobbies with some eye for taste- only using one or two small accessories or customizing her merchandise with less boring silhouettes. On the day of the abduction she wore grey trainers with white soles, red hued marble pattern yoga pants, a sideless crop top in white with a black silhouette of Samurai Jack, over a black sports bra, and over both a buttonable half sleeve blue denim jacket. She had a plain metal choker, and stud earrings. She wore no makeup.

Clover is at the taller end of average for her age, standing at 5’9” and weighing roughly 129 lbs. While there has been some muscle built in both her arms and core due to years spent playing the timpani, Clover is overall scrawny for her age, with a straight figure and barely any fat on her body. She is caucasian in skin tone, and due to time usually spent inside notably pale. Her hair is straight, thin, and goes down to her waist. It is a very faded brown — almost taupe — in colour, and is fairly ratty, messy, and filled with knots, Clover very often noting her bedhead in the morning and then forgetting to actively do anything about it, and often resulting in her having to continuously bat her hair aside so that she can see in front of her. She has a button nose, hazel-coloured eyes, and assorted pimples and blackheads all across her forehead, nose, and chin. She does not wear makeup unless on occasions such as school dances, weddings, or funerals, finding it too much of a pain to put on otherwise.

Clothing wise, quite like the rest of her appearance, Clover does not put in a lot of effort. She dresses far more for personal convenience rather than to look good, and she often tends to pick randomly from her piles of clothes in a way that results in a haphazard, mismatching fashion sense. As such, often t-shirts, tracksuit pants, and sneakers are what she most often wears. Oftentimes, she’ll wear the same outfit several days in a row, typically only switching out and throwing them in the wash in the middle and the end of the week. For the most part, she dresses fairly conservatively, partially to try and not show any skin and partially so that she can get away with not having to shave as much. Recently, she’s taken an upturn to buying items of clothing that look weird or against the grain, but she rarely does so while also keeping the rest of her wardrobe in mind, often just buying things from op shops that she thinks look cool and not questioning whether they’d actually be something she could wear until later. On the day of abduction, Clover was wearing a dress which is black around the sleeves and waist, and above and below show a picture of a cluster of dead trees looking up at a starry purple, blue and white sky, slightly tilted and cut so that the right shoulder is covered by the clothing, while the left shoulder is covered by a strap — bought for her by a friend in an attempt to glam her up. She also wore ripped and faded ankle length denim blue jeans, knee length black stockings, blue and white sneakers, and a silver lotus flower necklace.

She keeps her eyebrows narrow and well-shaped, and tends to apply a light makeup regime designed to accent but not overpower her features, though is known to skip it when in a hurry. Savanna is Caucasian, with a skin tone just on the paler side of average. She has generally clear skin, partially due to lucky genetics and partially as she pays good attention to hygiene.

In terms of dress, Savanna is quite varied, ranging between casual styles, specific looks for specific occasions, and outfits that gel with her sense of fun and humor. She has no particular preference between pants and skirts/dresses, though almost always eschews the latter when they might be impractical (such as if she's expecting to do a lot of active moving around). She can be all over the place in terms of vibe and modesty, but commits entirely to whatever she's sporting at any given time—if headed to a party or on a date, she can be positively daring, but around school she carefully sticks to the dress code and expresses herself instead through accessories and designs (at least most of the time), and when volunteering her garb is reserved and more or less professional. Savanna has no tattoos, and her only piercings are on her ears, one apiece in the lobes; she has at various points alluded to a desire to explore further body art but has been stymied so far by her serious fear of needles. She often skips earrings entirely, and when she does wear them she tends towards simple studs, though she is significantly more prone to accessorizing when it comes to her hands, frequently wearing all manner of rings and bracelets. On the day of the abduction, Savanna was had on a simple black tank top under a bulky black hoodie emblazoned with the Thrasher logo in pink underneath an image of Peppa Pig (a doubly-ironic article given her lack of interest in both subjects being spoofed), black tights under tight denim short shorts, and red vans. She paired this with a black elastic tattoo choker, more than a dozen multicolored jelly bracelets on her left wrist, and almost as many cheap metal costume rings rather randomly distributed between the fingers of both hands.

Appearance: Medea stands at about 5'5" and weighs around 130 Ibs. She possesses a somewhat curvy figure with notably plump thighs. She is ethnically Caucasian, with smooth white skin that is free of blemishes. Her facial features can best be described as conventionally pretty with her round face, small nose, heart-shaped lips which curl slightly upwards, round, blue eyes, and curly shoulder length, full-bodied blonde hair. Her eyebrows are neat and narrow, and she almost never wears makeup unless someone insists on putting it on for her. Medea smiles fairly regularly, almost always having one plastered on her face.

In terms of dress, Medea heavily favors more casual attires. More often than not she'll wear t-shirts with pajama bottoms as her preferred outfits of choice. Other than that, she has a fondness for knit sweaters, sweat pants, and hoodies. She often favors bright and warm colored clothing, as well as shirts that have designs on them, with a preference for anything that can be described as cute. Medea doesn't wear jewelry often, but does possess some earrings and necklaces that she wears on occasion. On the day of the abduction, Medea was wear a blue t-shirt with a cartoon bear and the words "Hello Bear!" on it, red flannel pajama pants, a cross necklace, and blue canvas sneakers.

Her features- large eyes, small nose, dimples, etc are generally “innocent” and “cute” coded and in general she is decently attractive imo. People tend to trust attractive people more. No matter how skinny she is, being 6’0 girl will have a slight intimidation factor attached to it, especially from afar. Her height and oval face might make her seem a little older than she is??? Poised= in control of herself, but the fidgeting and slouch suggest the opposite. Fidgeting is associated with excess energy and nervousness, and may help lower suspicion. Pigtails and pink dyed hair- girlishness, childishness. Her outfit is fashionable- she takes a lot of care into her appearance, but with more contemporary aesthetics that may leave a bad taste in the mouth of some people that are more adherent to rules and social norms. It also gives her a bit of added energy, with her accessories. The black and white gives her a hint of maturity. In general I’d think she’s fun to be with, trustworthy, girly and puts a lot of care into her outer image, with a twang of maturity hidden underneath.

Small, underweight. Unimposing, fragile. Eczema makes her look “sick”, in a way, and may incite pity but also questioning. Round face, chubby cheeks, I’d assume she looks a little younger than she actually is. What shape are her eyes? If it’s round, again, it makes her look more innocent. If it’s thinner, she might look sleepier/ more sly. Short, curly hair- tomboyish, childish in a way. Looks lively, may seem very friendly to others. Streetwear- associated with being casual. Doesn’t put effort into matching clothes- sloppy, carefree/careless. Her clothes- trainer, more athletic clothes, crop top gives off the impression of someone who is energetic and more ready to move around. With her smaller frame and young face, she looks like she’s trying to be more mature than she actually is. Her accessories make her look fun, but chokers are also associated with a more mature aesthetic, in a way?

TLDR: small, fragile in a way, energetic, fun to be with, doesn’t give a shit.

Appearance: Wendy is a short Caucasian girl, being 5’ 1”. She weighs 130 pounds, making her overweight, with a slightly chubby physique. Most of the extra fat goes to her belly and thighs. She is fair skinned, with freckles on her cheeks, nose bridge, and shoulders. She has medium length brown hair that reaches just past her shoulders. She tends to keep her hair tied in a ponytail. For facial features, she has a round face, wide blue eyes, a button nose, and rounded ears. She wears circular framed prescription glasses.

For clothing, Wendy tends to dress casually to feel comfortable. She keeps t-shirts, slacks, and sweaters, most of which are pastel colored. Some also feature characters and icons from her favorite shows and games. For cooler months, she tends to wear hoodies or heavy jackets. For footwear, she wears tennis shoes for all seasons, and sandals for warmer months.

Doesn’t put that much effort into her appearance- bedhead, no makeup. Nonathletic, given her paleness and frame. Might be assumed to be lazy. Button nose- perhaps a bit younger-looking? What shape are her eyes and mouth? The dress definitely disrupts the appearance she gives off- making her look like someone whose much more feminine and appearance-conscious that was caught up in something that messed her up. That dress mixed with jeans, however… makes her look mismatched. Like someone who knows nothing about fashion or appearances suddenly decided to dress “good” but had no idea how to do it. Sneakers- ready to run/be active.

TLDR: Lazy, a bit of a loser, probably either isn’t up to anything good or isn’t going through a good time right now. Probably bullied, but also elicits sympathy from others.

Her face makes her friendly-looking and sort of childlike, in a way. Short hair/pixie cuts are often associated with tomboyishness, and in some cases laziness and someone being casual. Good skin/makeup = care into image and presentation. Her hoodie is very… unique, and probably what most people would notice first about her, and therefore would assume what she wants them to notice first- her sense of humor. Her over-accessorizing makes her seem lively and energetic, especially with the colorful-ness of the jelly bracelets. The variety of metal rings makes her seem “tough”, in a way, but her hoodies and general appearance mitigates it.

TLDR: Casual, friendly, and maybe funny if your sense of humor aligns with hers’. I’d be at ease with her, but also if someone doesn’t gel with the hoodie they’d think she’s a bit of a loser.

Conventionally attractiveness plus always smiling makes someone seem outwardly a lot easier to talk to. Her face is cute- circular, round eyes, small nose. I would trust her. Her casual attire also adds to that- it makes her seem relaxed, but also a little lazy. The t-shirt’s design gives off a rather happy feel. The cross necklace signals her being religious, which could elicit a variety of reactions depending on people’s opinions on christianity.

TLDR: Happy, friendly, casual, but lazy. No idea how people will jive with her cross, but I’d eat popcorn with her as we watch rom-coms or something.

Unimposing, somewhat plain but cute, yet her being overweight has a bit of an attached stigma to it, unfortunately (that she’s lazy/doesn’t care about herself). Probably “innocent” in a way w/freckles and a somewhat young-looking appearance and face (wide eyes, button nose). Maybe nerdy, doesn’t care about her appearance. I won’t say she would get called a loser but she probably isn’t the most popular. Seems very comfy and nice. Would hug. A bit homely, not really someone that stands out all that much. Her clothing choices accentuates her geekiness/nerdy appearance, and makes her seem casual and chill.

So, uh..... you know how books call some people otherworldly? or when you see someone so weird, you believed you walked on a movie set? that would be my first impression of him. He's tall and imposing, and the albinism... not to say it is bad in any way, but it has a lot of stigma attached to it. And also red eye intimidation factor, ha!. Ok but to be serious he scares the shit out of me. You called him a "fish-man" a while back and that does seem to be the case- he isn't really conventionally attractive, and looks almost scary with his resting bitch face. His eyes don't go that well with the rest of his face. Even though his clothes are dark because he needs protection from the sun, a lot of people don't know that and won't assume that at first glance. I'd go ahead and call him a goth, for fuck's sake. The black trenchcoat does not help. I won't say that I will run away from him, but I'd imagine he gets stared at a decent amount- sort of like, "is this dude for real?" because not everyday you see a 6'6 goth albino fish man, unless you go to v8 school. Poor guy must have horrible self image.
