Area: The Church

Description: The church sits atop a small hill in the town and gives a good view over the handful of streets that make up the place. The church itself is a classical wooden construction with a high steeple and ladder up to its bell, although the whole structure has shifted and leans to its right as a result of the ground beneath it shifting. The inside of the church has a carpeted aisle that runs between the rows of pews. At the front of the church is a pulpit and altar that have been arranged as if a service was intended before being abandoned. Behind this scene is the door to the sacristy, which contains some moth-eaten vestments, a wash basin, two wardrobes—one of which has been pushed onto its side, revealing a trapdoor—and a worktop with candlestick holders and incense burners along with some other Catholic paraphernalia.

Makeshift barricades have been arranged using the pews to block certain doors and windows. Of particular the entrance leading to the Hidden Cellar in the church's interior has been blocked off.

As of Go for Gold, a body is visible in the church. The corpse of Donovan Lauer rests against a pew, eyes closed, a weak smile on his face, and blood on his tongue and lips; there is a bullet hole on his front, around the location of his right lung, the evident cause of his death. His weapon, as well as all of his supplies, have been taken away.

As of The Children's Crusade, Angelo Lee's body has moved up the stairs down to the Hidden Cellar and into the Church proper; currently, it lies in the sacristy, swathed in wet, foul-smelling, residue-covered, and moth-eaten vestments, evidently used for the cellar's thorough cleaning.

As of Blind Faith, the body of Przemyslaw Ziemiak is also in the sacristy covered in a vestment. Angelo's body is no longer covered. There's the remnants of a small fire with rocks around the burned wood near the altar. There's a sizable pool of blood near the entrance and bloody footprints leading away from the church.
