Howdy, it's me, Magnum, and I've come to propose ideas for the types of relationships your kids could have with mine, Claude!

RAY JANECZEK

I imagine Ray and Claude are on pretty friendly terms with each other. Both being on the horror club makes it even more likely, and with how popular and friendly Claude is, it's not out of the question. Although, I imagine they have also had chance encounters online via FPS games on occasion... I'm just suggesting that since I think it would be funny to see how that goes.

MONA MARROQUÍN

In a complete contrast, Mona and Claude are on unfriendly terms. Not because she has done wrong by him, but because he generally just avoids her so as to not associate with her in any way, shape, or form. Now sure, he is mixed in with a couple of bad eggs, but Mona is a really bad egg, even by other standards.

CLARISSA SHOEMAKER

Clarissa and Claude are friends. He is able to notice that her whole thing is a facade, but he doesn't really say anything to her about it since he knows she'll deny it. Despite that, his perception would have him actually worry for her and ask her if she's uncomfortable or overwhelmed since he genuinely looks out for her.

TRISHA PRESCOTT

Trisha and Claude... they know each other, to say the least. They have certainly spoken and hung out very rarely. Claude just doesn't seem to mind her, and is suspicious of her two faced nature but simply opts to not really care about it. Trisha, I don't really know what you would suggest she would think about Claude, I'm open to anything.

And that's about it, I can't wait to see what your thoughts and opinions are on my suggestions.

Quick update (will not be catching up on updating relationships yet!), I'm going to be benching Ray. I don't want to overextend myself in V9, and the concept was coming from a very personal and uncomfortable place anyways. Ray's info is still up in case I change my mind.

It's alive...

Changes:
  • Ray was always in the roster, Trish never existed, anyone who thinks otherwise is insane
  • Added the ideas between Privyet and I
  • Clarissa has a profile now!
As a general note, my characters do tend to see some changes from the versions presented in the relationship tracker during the profile and critique process. Clarissa's, for example, has already been modified a bit from the original iteration of her. If anything super major changes about any of them that would disrupt the logic behind a relationship we've agreed upon, I will be sure to PM!
[+] Fiori
Yep, to be clear, Sohel is gone and not coming back.
  • Ergo Proxy fan meets One Piece fan... yeah that could literally be the exact description of their acquaintance, LOL. I don't see Ray being one of Koa's close buddies he'd be super loyal to. Aquaintances through anime club sounds about right.
  • I can see Mona having some active emnity towards Johnny as one of Mañana's bros, yeah. He's got the sort of swaggering presence a woman like Mona might want to take down a peg or several. If she finds any dirt on him she's putting it out there without a second thought. AKA they're on each other's shit lists but not like actively going out of their way to antagonize each other save in passing. Casual enemies.
  • Clarissa and Marcy would probably be on very good terms! No way a doormat like Clarissa would set off Marcy's temper. She'd be happy to follow along in Marcy's wake and be a good plus one at parties, both being popular and probably counted among the less annoying popular girls in the school. They'd see each other all the time through Dance Club and Cheer practice, so plenty of room to build rapport. Since Clarissa drifted strongly under Joanne's influence in the latter half of their high school years Marcy might sideeye Clarissa a little, but probably not much of a dent in their friendship at all.
  • Clarissa would actually be Johnny's mechanic as well from time to time if he's using Raya's services. I could see them having gone on a date after flirting with each other while Clarissa was working on Johnny's ride and, yes, that's a really cute way to break it off, I love the idea of them both nerding out over cars to the point that they both realize they need each other as friends instead of lovers. They'd probably also get to bond over being designated drivers for their friends groups too. I'd see them being on good terms present day present time, maybe Clarissa being Johnny's go to to rant about new cars he's interested in, maybe they'd planned to go to an auto show as friends at some point. Clarissa might be an honorary bro perhaps? Also, being the best friend and dopey sidekick of Joanne might give Clarissa a unique insight into how Johnny's being had... on some level that she can't verbalize, at any rate.

Hey there, read through all the characters, and here's some of my ideas for relationships:

Ray Janeczek could be friends with Thomas Shaw, since both are slightly nerdy, although Thomas could get annoyed since Thomas' talks (while usually dumb thought experiments) still need to be thought through, and I doubt Ray and Thomas would be able to have those sorts of talks.

Mona Marroquín... If you want enemies, I can give you two of them. Thomas could have become friends but ditched Mona when Thomas eventually realized how awful Mona was. Same with Chester Mullivan, but Chester could have lashed out against Mona and gotten close to getting in a fight, ending up with nothing happening due to the football team holding Chester back.

Finally, Clarissa Shoemaker would only really know Chester, and how good of friends they are is up to you since Chester is well known for his "Outbursts".

That's all I have for right now, and have a good day!

Changes:
  • Giving Clarissa yet another rank of aquaintances consisting of folk who, while she'll still be on good terms with them, they stress her out to a point where she does try to avoid them if possible.
[+] Magnum 0pus
  • Claude and Ray works to an extent. They don't seem to have much in common beyond horror club but Ray is one of Mortimer's closer friends so they have that common connection. Ray's a tech geek and terminally online and would be happy to have mild hyperfixation rambles about it, so he might help explain some things to Claude as well. Strikes me as friendly aquaintances/casual friends.
  • I don't see much potential for Mona and Claude to actively be conspiring against each other. Claude one-sidedly avoiding Mona, yes, she deserves it. But she doesn't really have a reason to target him or really know him beyond being another face in the Red Rocks crowd she may have heard a thing or two about in passing.
  • Clarissa is close friends to a lot of folks Claude seems to think highly of like Raya and Sylvie. She'd be working on the Magnum Opus alongside Raya, she'd be one of the cheer squad at Claude's games, they have plenty of chances to be on good terms, and she's sweet and easy to deal with. Plus, the concern he feels for her since she can see her disability for what it is probably adds to the regard between them and I imagine he'd be one of the folks who keeps an eye out for her. Tries and fails to convince her that Joanne is bad news, etc. Also since Claude's on the baseball team and I decided semi-jokingly while working out relationships that Clarissa crushes on baseball boys, well. She likely made an earnest pass at him at some point, however he'd react to that.
[+] Survival Chances
  • Thomas and Ray share the Horror club and playing hella video games (Ray would feel quite sorry for Thomas due to the gaming restriction!). so that gives them common things to nerd out over. Honestly, Ray does like thought experiments and talking through them quite a bit, so he might be willing to entertain Thomas on that! Ray's also good at working with silence, so Thomas zoning out won't bother Ray at all.

They're also both the sober sort who avoid substances, so that also gives them something that's probably on the rarer side in the student body in common. They strike me as kindred spirits who can have deep conversations and also lightheartedly joke around and meme. Ray would probably have some ethical concerns about Thomas deriving entertainment from SOTF if he ever caught wind of it. Not enough for Ray to actually bring it up since he's a coward, but it could be a point of tension on a subconscious level.
  • Hmmm, I will say that I can't see any particular reason for Mona to have beef she wants to cook with either Thomas or Chester. She likely wouldn't have a reason to know anything about Thomas (he only games for an hour a day so they can't connect through that, and they share no clubs especially since Mona was booted from them all) besides a name she might remember the face of. For Chester she may have heard of him due to his reputation but she wouldn't have much reason to think about him.
  • Difficult people trouble Clarissa a lot, she doesn't do well in stressful situations where others are angry at all. Since she's a cheerleader she was likely right in the vicinity of at least one of Chester's outbursts and she got terrified in a way that will unconsciously bias her against him and make her a bit more avoidant of her. He's kind and charitable and I'm sure on paper she thinks he's a great person, but she probably tries passively to stay out of his way when she can. Chester in turn probably likes Clarissa well enough. Not much there to dislike.

Alrightie alrightie!

Rita Schnell

Oh lord…uh, I think you might have found Mona’s arch-nemesis. Rita fucking DESPISES Mona for how she treated Manuel and is one of the few people Rita genuinely believes is irredeemable. Anyone trying to gas Mona up will be met with Rita screaming about how she’s a bad person.

Clarissa and Rita scream close friends, not gonna lie. They’ve been to each other’s parties and in general like their company. I can see Clarissa taking issue with Rita’s ego, however.

Skyla Monroe

Honestly, I think Skyla just feels sad regarding Mona. Here’s a woman who had all the potential in the world get consistently fails herself every time because she has to get the last laugh, and with how Mona has just fallen further into the alt-right incel sphere, Skyla just wants Mona to get some therapy cause it’s clear something inside her isn’t right.

Maggie Wilfred

Well Ray, you’re in luck, cause Maggie’s been trying to get into DND and other RPGs herself! She might’ve joined him in a few of their games, wanting to see what the fuss was all about. Not sure if they have a close connection but she’s a pleasent enough person.

Well this could go south. Maggie is aware of Monams garbage reputation and how she manipulates and ruins men…and yet, she’s still curious about this influencer lifestyle. See, she’s got a personality quest going and she wants to know, could being an influencer be a good path forward? I can see Mona being willing to help, and maaaaybe trying to spread alt-right propaganda to Maggie.

Maggie is also intrigued by Clarissa and how sweet and cool she is. It helps that she’s autistic just like her so she can relate really easily. I think they’ve hung out a couple times, but nothing major. Maggie wants to change that somehow, cause she thinks Clarissa is cool!

Murray Miller

Murray has actively told the football team what Mona did. About how Mona and Manuel were caught making babies in the closet and he saw one of the babies looking at him. Uh…yeah, he got the spirit but he doesn’t fully understand why people hate Mona.

Oh the other hand, I think Murray and Clarissa might be dating, like unironically. It’s the classic case of big guy and little girl where he does everything she can to keep her spirits high while Clarissa does the same for him. Definitely could’ve bonded as part of the Outdoor Rattlers.

Sorry for not adding this in the first post, but I added a new character, Kaede Miller, a rich theater kid, and I think she would know some people. This mainly has to do with Clarissa Shoemaker since both are popular. Plus, Kaede could have been friends with Mona but then decided to ditch Mona after deciding that Mona was not a good friend.

I'm on a roll (down a cliff to my death). Note that I haven't updated my tracker with the below ideas yet, just writing down my responses first and I'll do updates later.
[+] JacobAllTradez
Rita:
  • Honestly yes, I do see it. As a fallen from grace former popular girl Mona and Rita were probably at least familiar with each other's game before Mona's mask got ripped off so they have the bonus of having been familiar with each other before their sudden falling out. Mona probably quietly never liked Rita in the first place. Priveliged optimist sounds like a combo of traits that would really have ticked Mona off. With that in mind, after the fact, no lost love between the two and Rita had a place on Mona's shitlist for sure. Not that anyone gasses Mona up LOL.
  • Clarissa wouldn't really be bothered by Rita's ego actually, Clarissa just kind of goes along with what most charismatic and conceited people throw at her, so she'd probably happily accept it at face value. So she sees Rita as a really good and positive, vibrant friend! Clarissa is easy to make a lackey, with the caveat that she's fallen most thoroughly into orbit of Joanne's vapidity. That might be an ego blow to Rita, perhaps one she's actively trying to snap Clarissa out of (her and all of Clarissa's friends who give a shit lol). Why follow her when you could follow me instead, etc.
Skyla:
  • Hmm, nothing jumps out to me here from my end. Skyla's allowed to have that opinion on Mona, of course, but Skyla probably isn't on Mona's radar. Like, I could see my other kids, especially Ray, liking Skyla and having commonalities but there's no direct line to connect them, no hobbies in common, no common friends, etc. Maybe Raya for Clarissa. Skyla can be yet another person who is a bit too smart for Clarissa to get but that she likes listening to(TM).
Maggie:
  • Huh, did I list DND/TTRPGs as an interest for Ray? I don't believe I did- that's not his speed, and apologies if I accidentally did list that. If she's interested in Magic: The Gathering then yes, that would apply. Besides that I do they they'd like each other. I don't their social circles really align at the moment though. More of a missed connection, IMO.
  • Yeah, a Maggie looking for an identity who would be willing to overlook Mona's bad reputation to seek her mentorship in trying out streaming would definitely appeal a lot to Mona. Also they both have and love cats! Mona would definitely be willing to be a bit of a devil on Maggie's shoulder, giving Maggie her genuine advice (because Maggie's success would boost her ego, and because on some level Mona probably actually does feel at least a little affection for someone so pure and empathic. Even the devil can love, etc) while also subtly trying to poison the well with her hateful views/gossip and falsehoods about other kids at school, and or get Maggie to leak some dirt on her parents that could get Mona clout on /pol/ or whatever. I can't imagine anyone Maggie cares for would advise her that associating with Mona is a good idea, so I do wonder how Maggie would deal with that conflict between her personal interest and the advice of other people she considers a good friend.
  • I do like the idea of Clarissa being someone Maggie looks up to- relatable with both of them being neurodiverse, but with far more focus and more concrete passions in life given that Clarissa goes hard in everything she does and has a lot of drive. Yeah, I like it a lot. A relationship more defined by Maggie's perspective- for Clarissa she'd only know Maggie as another casual aquaintance who she likes catching up with from time to time.
Murray:
  • Mona doesn't really hate Murray at all, compared to how she does hate most of the sports kids in Mananas circle. Can't hate a guy like that.
  • Hm, for Clarissa and Murray, I will say that I'm not interested in her like, currently dating someone as is, just because it's thematic for her to be indecisively stuck in the middle of a few crushes as her life also approaches an inflection point in general. I'd be down for them having a bit of a mutual understated crush on each other that neither's acted on because they haven't had the time/place to ask each other out. Clarissa would like his kindness, positivity, and ability to be funny. Someone she doesn't have to put her brain through a blender to understand like she does with a lot of other people. So yeah, crushes on each other maybe? And we can see how that plays out in pregame.
[+] Survival Chances 2.0
  • Positive charismatic people make Clarissa happy and don't cause her much stress, and she's always down to clown! Clarissa in turn has probably literally never done anything mean in her life, even on accident. Girl's built diff. She does encourage Kaede to join the dance team whenever they do happen to hang out.
  • TBH, something funny we could go for here would be that, having both been decently popular girls in their early years in high school, maybe Mona let a bit of her nastiness slip through her mask every now and then- acted a little petty, cruel, etc. Like, in a way most would forgive as a one off thing, but Kaede might not because she's really easy to turn into a enemy. So Mona makes a bit of a social faux pas, maybe a dark joke that isn't really funny and is kind of cruel. Most of the other popular girls just shrug it off as an off moment but Kaede blocks Mona that day or something. And a year and some months later, when Mona turns into the school's pariah almost overnight, Kaede gets to be totally right and I told you so about it all! She hated Mona before it was cool.
